A family wedding the weekend, all beautiful a lovely setting, the patio and garden stunning . The venue lovely . Staff worked hard, polite smiling . Evening buffet. Huge plate of bread rolls asda specials. No butter, dry. 2 huge stacks of ham, Asda special. A few dipps, mozzarella sticks. Dry cut veggies, dry sweetcorn cucumber Carrott sticks. Small tomatoes on vine beautiful. Nothing special. Still starving not much on offer. Nothing for the children. Pasty sausage rolls, etc the norm. Won't visit again .

We had a shock on entering our room. The place didn't look like it had been cleaned, there was dust on the tops of the bedside cabinets, dust all around plug sockets, the fan's filter was covered in dust, there was a huge crack in the mirror on the wardrobe, the room was billed as having a hairdryer, this was in the bathroom and locked like it had been there since the 1980's, it didn't work, we later found one in the back of the wardrobe. The windows didn't open fully. There was no way this accommodation was worth the £120 which we paid. I emailed them twice to discuss the issues we encountered but they didn't even bother to reply. The icing on the cake was the local church bell rang every hour all night, I know this

We spent one night last weekend here and can honestly say, we were absolutely blown away by this beautiful hotel! We cannot recommend it enough! The food was incredible!! Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. The staff were warm and friendly and you could feel the positive energy as soon as you walked in. I have to mention the food again as it was out of this world good! We would absolutely come back just for the food alone. We want to thank the staff for being so lovely it is clear you all love your job which was so refreshing and lovely to see. I hope we can come back again soon. Don’t hesitate in booking this place especially if you are a foodie!! Great location, small and quaint and all round great place.

Sunday lunch review only Excellent Sunday lunch. Plenty of meat and fresh vegetables. For the vegetarians a tasty feta and spinach pie, pastry just melted in mouth. Atmosphere in this lovely old building adds to the meal being special. Remember to book

Had a fantastic 2 night stay. Staff were very efficient and pleasant. The place was lovely and clean and very well equipped. I will definitely be recommending to my family and friends and will be returning. The beer garden was really nice and relaxing.

Disappointed with this hotel. No water pressure in bathroom, shower like a watering can, TV 18” you couldn’t see names or scores from the settee or bed, menu incorrect in room for restaurant, outside light kept coming on past midnight lighting up the bedroom and finally the food which we’d booked this hotel for, the steak was inedible the tiramisu was ice cream and a pot of coffee with a pipette ! On the plus side the starter and the fish were good which my husband had. I have emailed the Manager but still waiting a response. Thus was booked as a Luxury break, was this Luxury, I don’t think so. Would I recommend this Hotel, I think not. The Hotel staff were very helpful I must add but couldn’t rectify the issues.

Rooms in main building were ok but in the outer buildings were awful and definitely not worth the money, shower didn’t work in the one room, not a good start. The place needs a lot of money spending on it. Staff at breakfast on Sunday very off, customer service counts for a lot. Tried to overcharge on rooms even when we had emails to prove prices. Can’t say I’d recommend this hotel and won’t stay again.

Very good six course dinner in The Great House last night. The place was warm and comforting. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was great: Beef Cheek Bon Bon; Focaccia; Olives; Scallops ; Guinea Fowl; Lamb; Orange Sorbet; Chocolate Tort; nice wine. Very enjoyable evening.
