Le Château de Bressey & Son Orangerie

Friendly welcoming English speaking hosts. Fantastic walks through the forest to the lakes with beautiful wild flowers and birds. The chateau is authentic with many period pieces. Full of charm and history. Owners very informative. Comfortable rooms and an excellent breakfast. The hosts will book dinner in a nearby village if required. Highly recommend staying here.

We were received as friends, rather than quests. Historical buildings, furniture antique, all works. The hosts create the unique spirit with friendlines. Total silence in the nighttime, breakfast served whenever you want, offering delicious home - made jams with freshly baked croissants. What else would we need?

Stunning old chateau with a real authentic atmosphere so nicely kept by the owners Such a kind and friendly welcome with drinks in this sublime sitting room. We stayed at the Orangerie in a very tastfully decorated room. The park around the castle is huge and we had a lovely stroll with the dogs, primroses violets and wild anemones everywhere. Breakfast was in the dining room another stunning place with the most beautiful white sculptures above the doors, the breakfast table was decorated in style and breakfast itself was nice fresh and yummy. We loved the explanations given by the owners about the history of the house and one could feel the intense involvement concerning their castle. Very impressive and we loved it, we try to be back one day.

This is just what we were looking for: a charming, yet a bit wrinkled manor house or a small castle full of history! In addition to the surroundings, the patron couple made us feel being guests rather than customers right after the offered welcome drink. The dinner was served in a vast historical dining room, with all guests around a big table: pumpkin soup, duck with mashed potatoes, cheeses and chocolate cake. All with fine Bourgogne wines. If you're looking for shining bar desks, loud music and a night club, try to find them elsewhere.

Nice place to stay in beautiful surroundings. The orangerie has a few rooms and a shared kitchen with a dining and lounge area also. Bertrand is so welcoming and an interesting guy to chat to. He prepared breakfast for us in the main house too. Well worth a stay and a walk round the beautiful grounds. Dogs are allowed but none of the local restaurants that were open entertained ours so we ended up with a takeaway pizza. Not great at all. BEWARE!
