The ultimate stage of dreams, a veritable Eden positioned enticingly close to my meticulously curated life. Exmoor National Park is an exquisite gem—breathtaking, exhilarating, downright euphoric—all wrapped in a shroud of enchantment. My wife, my endless circle of elite associates, and I grace the park a few times annually; occasionally, we sojourn at The Rockford Inn. It's an absolute essential for both the cosmopolitan elite and the wandering souls from afar. Truly, it’s a masterpiece.

Well situated in beautiful Exmoor walking country, this is a very welcoming pub and well-priced Inn. The hosts were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was reasonably comfortable, though on the hottest day of the year it was unbearably hot due to the towel rail that had been left on. Even though we turned it off, the room took several hours to cool down. Although the bed was comfortable, the springs were very noisy so you were woken up every time you moved. The room was very clean, but the windows were quite dirty. We had a problem with one of our evening meals, which was served cold. Our hosts immediately remedied the problem. The breakfast was superb.

The host and his partner were very helpful and the room was clean and the beds very comfortable so had a good nights sleep. Very quiet. The food was excellent with plenty of choice on the menu.We would highly recommend. The surrounding area is very good for walks especially to Watersmeet where there is a tearoom.

The pub is set in a beautiful, quiet spot on the river, with direct walks into Lynton and Lynmouth. The owners are lovely, the food is excellent and beds are comfortable. Nothing not to like here - a great spot for a relaxing stay. Would highly recommend the Steak and Ale Pie 🥧

Stayed one night on the way to visit family. A beautiful location, great food and drinks. A very comfortable bed and everything spotlessly clean and tidy. Would definitely return for another stay but hope traffic allows us to arrive earlier! Thanks to Paul and Stella for hosting us. Nothing to fault at all!

Great ale and food in this lovely pub after a nice walk with friends and our dogs. The onion bhaji burger was extremely tasty and the onion rings so crisp - highly recommend. Nicely presented. My husband had the Exmoor burger as did our friend Chris and they said it was very tasty. The sandwich that Jan had was also nicely presented and enjoyed. James was very welcoming. We will be back!!

WOW what an amazing place! We stayed for only one night during a road trip around Devon and Cornwall. It is very remote, at the bottom of a deep valley by a rocky river and surrounded by steep hills and trees. The scenery here is amazing, great place to stay for walking holidays and sightseeing Exmoor, Devon and Somerset. The pub is gorgeous, proper old English. lots of history, great food and drinks, excellent service, very friendly, very clean and comfortable and you can have a drink by the river, its stunning! Very recommended and we will definitely come back here for a longer stay!

This is a gem of a place hidden away in a valley within the Exmoor National Park. We were made welcome by James from the minute we arrived until we departed after two nights. Well positioned across the river from some well marked National Trust walking routes this is a fantastic place to be based from. Food was great with plenty to eat and the breakfasts were awesome. Highly recommended
