The hotel is very well located, right on the beach. Service very good. Food was also good, more "freshly cooked" food could be offered. Very good value for money.

This was our second visit this year. If I could I would rate this place 4+, let me explain. The Property itself, Rooms, layout all is really nice and spotlessly clean, the Staff are very warm and welcoming. Should you have any Issue nothing is really a problem. The setting of this Hotel is absolutely breathtaking - this is a epitome of clear blue water you expect - really nice beaches nearby - note you have to pay for the Parasols and Loungers. Nice Pools should you prefere that to Sea - plenty of Loungers there for free, quite close to one and other, but that is understandable. Breakfast is really nice, very good quality, great selection overall. What I am little missing is bigger glasses and fresh juices (take this with pinch of Salt as this is what I expect to have in 5 star Hotel). The Dinner would not be sufficient for us (personal preference) - not much choice of fish, seafood - so we walk either to Brela or Baška Voda. As I have mentioned for us almost 5, just a few Adjustments and it undoubtedly would be. I do recommend this Place to all who like beautiful Sea, beautiful Settings and Surroundings and very high Standard of Services provided, but do not forget its Nature so Mosquitos and Wasps cannot be avoided at Times. Non the less perfect for us.

In short, good hotel and overall positive experience with few opportunities to improve, although it appears that it is slightly on a downtrend, compared to previous Bluesun Hotel stays. First few good things: - The hotel offers free transfer from Split airport which is a great benefit, and absent that we wouldn't have picked this location, nor hotel given it is roughly an hour away from Split airport and one way trip is in approximately $125 euros. - The hotel itself is clean, staff is polite from reception to restaurants - Rooms vary in size, the smallest room is decent, but I if you have a 3rd person (kid), I would opt for a bigger room, which is almost double the size. - The restaurant (we had half board), is very good, with good options across the board. Note that at dinner you have to pay for drinks. - There are 2 pools, fairly clean, chairs always available. Beach is literally down the stairs. Note that you have to pay for beach chairs/umbrellas, although you can always bring a towel and put it down. Areas of improvement: - There is absolutely no service at the pool, despite 2 restaurant available 5 meters away. While not a big deal to walk to the restaurant and get your own drinks/food, it would be nice to have waiters at 5 star restaurant - Similar to above, we were at hotel bar one of the nights and were literally right in front of the bar in plain sight of the bartender. Despite waiting there for around 15-20 minutes the bartender never came over. He seems busy, however there were barely any guests in the lobby and terrace. Not sure if they are understaffed or what? - Similar to above you don't see too many folks working there during the day (yes there is staff cleaning and fixing things in AM). For example, at one point during our stay, a quick large wind storm came through, that literally blew away chairs and umbrella's from pools for more than 50 meters down to the other pool. When it was all done, there was not a single hotel staff that helped with cleanup, and it was guests that were walking into bushes and pools to pull chairs and umbrellas out.

Normally I stay in 4 star hotels but for a change I thought I would book a five star hotel for a little luxury. Well the only five star thing was the prices. But first to the good things. The hotel is modern and attractive being built on a cliff side with tiered seating areas overlooking the sea and with plenty of trees and shrubs etc. The public rooms are light and bright and the fitments throughout are of a high standard ( although I do not know who the chars in the lounge were made for!) The location is excellent as a 10 minute walk along the shore takes you to Brela or Baška Voda. Most importantly the staff are very friendly and helpful, which is not so usual in these days of staff shortages. Parking is a real problem but the staff sort it out for you but for this reason the hotel would not be a good choice if you intended touring - basically you park and the car stays there until you leave - fine if the weather is good. The food is good though not outstanding. The dining room is on a terrace overlooking the sea and halfway down the slope is a pleasant restaurant serving very good (and expensive) lunches. Our room was spacious with plenty of seating though not much in the way of drawers or surfaces so it was hard to find places to put things. There were also minimal toiletries. It was redeemed, however, by a large private terrace with a sea view and loungers. The major disappointment was with the pools. There were plenty of loungers but squashed together so much so that it was difficult to sit on them. There was little deep shade and not much of a view. We went down to the beach (quite a few steps) and hired loungers and umbrellas and as it was just before the peak season it was not particularly crowded. Generally my experience was a good one which could be so much better with more space by the pools and a few extras in the room.

We have almost 20 years of experience of Brela and Baska Voda and Hotel Berulia has always been our preffered place. The beach just below the hotel is great and the lunches at beach restaurant Puz are very good. A great start of the day is to visit their poolbar having a morning coffee in the shadow under the nice pine trees. A special thanks to Dejan and his friendly staff who always deliver great service.
