Convenient Location: The inn’s proximity to downtown Brattleboro (5–10 minutes by car or a scenic walk) was a notable advantage. Guests enjoyed easy access to restaurants, shops, hiking trails, and local attractions like the Brattleboro Country Club and Retreat Trails.

We had a really great time at this inn. The inn keepers were very accommodating with our schedule and dietary preferences. I wish we could have spent more time there. The sheets were so soft and the food was incredible. Highly recommend if you are in the area either on business or dropping a child off at school or camp.

From the moment you walk into that old house you feel it's a dream. All the rooms in the house are filled with interesting items to capture your attention. Even though the house is almost 100 years old, it is clean from top to bottom and in perfect condition. Everything a vacation get-away should be. That's how we felt at the Inn on Putney road. We like to hike and swim so it was a pleasant surprise to find a trail at the back of the yard that meandered through the woods and down to the water. On a beautiful summer evening we found our way to the water for sunset and took a dip. The breakfast was awesome. You should try this house.

My partner and I stayed at this inn for 7 days in early July. This is one of the finest inns I've experienced. It is quite simply exceptional. It is elegant, and yet also homey, comfortable, and very relaxed. Our room was very nice with a comfortable bed, a separate sitting area, spacious bath, and plenty of amenities. The common rooms are inviting and beautifully appointed. The breakfast offered each morning is excellent and includes a fruit salad and a different entree every day. There is a lovely yard with gazebo and other seating. Paul, the innkeeper is super nice, personable, helpful, and clearly cares very much about providing a great experience to guests. Marie, another staff member, is equally terrific and delightful. The inn is conveniently located near downtown Brattleboro, which is a fun town to explore. The inn is also very well located for exploring southern Vermont. Very highly recommended.

Stayed for two nights in the garden view room. We had good breakfasts both days (bruleed grapefruit, yum!), and doing the location convenient to walking into town. We also enjoyed the common areas where we could play a very casual game of pool or work on a puzzle.

Easily the nicest B & B we’ve ever stayed at! So, so beautiful! Everything from the picturesque backyard, complete with early spring garden and gorgeous pottery, to the charming room was just the perfect romantic getaway for my husband and I. Brattleboro is such a funky, lovely town with a great downtown and this place was just right around the corner! And don’t get me started on the breakfast!!! 3 courses with fresh muffins, fruit and granola parfait and veggie and goat cheese quiche - all served with fresh, French press coffee! I wish we could have stayed longer.

Homey yet elegant, the Inn on Putney Road lives up to the charm one looks for in a Bed and Breakfast. It is cozy and the sense of passion for hospitality comes through. My family member and I stayed a couple of nights. When we arrived, we had space to breathe and become acquainted with the room and house. It felt open, welcoming, and was quiet: just what we longed for when escaping to Vermont for nature and peace. The gorgeous antiques were varied. Each common area was a joy to be in. The room was lovely, clean, and nicely arranged. The mini refrigerator in the closet had plenty of space and there was a carafe of water in it as well as seltzers in glass jars. We let the innkeepers know we were vegan ahead of time, and plant-based popcorn and chocolates, made by local companies, were in a basket on the vanity- a thoughtful touch. There were beautiful pottery mugs for tea and coffee in the room, of spring colors. These were also downstairs for use and there were others for sale: souvenirs to bring home. The mugs are made in MN by a small company, Deneen Pottery. The Harney and Sons looseleaf and bag tea was offered in delicious flavors. All of these mostly local and small business offerings added to the experience. The bed was very comfortable and the bath was delightful for easing the muscles after hikes and cool air. The robes were a luxurious touch. We felt like characters in a period drama: going downstairs to play the piano in the fine room with the fireplace, or for a game of pool. There was also a chess table in another small room which was finely decorated. There were board games and books in abundance. The yard had lighting in the trees at night. Past the bubbling fountain in the middle, there were patios that looked through tall pines at the river below. The stars shone brightly, and we warmed in front of the fire. The Inn people we met were Paul, the owner, and also Fay, and Marie. All were brightly welcoming. Breakfast was exquisite with multiple courses. They took care to provide us filling and flavorful meals with plant-based eggs and sausage, potatoes, grapefruit with a sweet crust of and cinnamon covered in fruit, parfait, and French toast with local maple syrup. What a place!

Our first time to Inn on Putney Road and not our last!! Our daughter goes to a nearby boarding school and we have been trying out different accommodations in the area while visiting her. We had a great stay here. The staff (Marie and Faye) were both EXCELLENT as well as the wonderful cook we met (sorry - did not get her name). Lots of thoughtful touches here by innkeepers that you can tell really care.... snacks in room, water in mini fridge (thank you for no plastic bottles!), robes, coffee in room, the list goes on. Breakfast is very nice and love the French press coffee. They made check-in very easy since we were arriving late. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
