The Westin Reserva Conchal, an All-Inclusive Golf Resort & Spa

Beach and Location: The property is praised for its beautiful and easily accessible beach, which is wide, uncrowded, and offers snorkeling opportunities along the north edge. The proximity to nature, including the rainforest setting, adds to the experience.

Resort is approx. 1.5 hours away from the airport. We booked the Westin Club experience which provided us with transport to and from the airport. Upon arrival at the Club check in, our reservation had issues. We were switched from Tower 2 to Tower 1 in order to accommodate all of us who requested a king bed. We did not want to move again after a second night so we agreed on two queen beds instead. As a result, our view was underwhelming, coffee in room is bland, floors are swept but not washed, toilet paper is cheap, but AC worked well, bar fridge and snacks were replenished daily and beds were comfortable. Flashlights (resort is very dark at night; and umbrellas provided in room). The Club house was forever out of wine glasses and food offered as snacks were sub-par. But the self serve bar did have all the necessities and it was easy enough to ask staff if you were missing something. The Club pool was nice with plenty of lounge chairs and great staff although they were always out of slip cover towels for the lounge chairs. The worst were the cushions on chairs, benches, loungers, all over the resort - so badly stained. Reservations for the three restaurants opened up at 6am. By 7:30 am you were lucky to get in for an 8pm dinner. The App for the resort was limiting and the WIFI was very spotty so it was an unreliable way to book reservations. The buffet was very disappointing in variety (no salad, pasta or sandwich bar). Hit and miss on most dishes in all of the restaurants. Club members had a nice breakfast option by the pool. Paddle boards, kayaks, and bikes were hit and miss. Beach access is public so you will be asked for massages, etc. Beach was ok with crushed shells on sand, but limited loungers and umbrellas. Ocean was warm for late November. The grounds, the staff, and all the critters (iguanas, Coati, Howler monkeys, etc.) was the best part. The golf course is really nice (although pricey), the staff is friendly and attentive and the animals are fun to watch. Fortunately, the weather was very hot and sunny for our first time in Costa Rica.

Wonderful time! Resort was beautiful. Quiet and relaxing. Staff were friendly and helpful. We went fishing and the chef at Manglar prepared the tuna for us. Beautifully presented and delicious. We were able to connect with a local tour guide Eric G (had on a blue Google shirt) on the beach and had an amazing tour to a waterfall, rain forest and cocoa/coffee farm. We saw several slots, frogs, and a pit viper. We'd definitely book another tour through him. Looking forward to a return visit soon!
