We attended a wedding reception at this hotel. It was very well done, with good food and the service was very good. All in all, it was a very enjoyable occasion. There is a good outside area for photographs. The only thing that let it down was that the toilets weren't great. One cubicle in the ladies had no light, and the other one didn't flush properly.

The Riverside is a lovely Chef & Brewer pub which is sadly surrounded by a building estate but this should not put you off going. Inside there is a bright, airy and nicely furnished dining room with well spaced tables which leads onto a large garden with a lot of seating. The staff were all attentive and polite, the drinks and meals both arrived quickly. It offers the same menu as at all Chef & Brewer pubs but with a few specials. As expected there is a good choice of beer and wine. We enjoyed a Korean duo of chicken, steak & ale pie and gammon. All well presented, hot, good quality and tasty. By chance this was our second visit to a Chef & Brewer in a week and I’m starting to think that they may be returning to the high standards they used to have but lost for a while.

Great Pub/Inn with a nice patio outside. Super friendly and helpful staff that make your stay enjoyable. I now have stayed there on two occasions and would recommend you check it out. Many thanks to the staff there to include but not limited to Adam, Natalie, Sean, Darcy , Phoebe, David and all i encountered. Food and drinks were awesome!! Will definitely be back ! Not a great start, the table we sat at was not clean. It looked like a cloth had been used to wipe spillage but had actually smeared the spillage all over the table. On a glass covered table it looked very unhygienic. For the duration of our visit, a family who were drinking outside kept entering the restaurant bare chested. No T-shirts or shirts and nothing on their feet. Staff should have asked them to cover up for hygiene reasons and plain simple respect. We had to collect our own cutlery as none was on the table or brought out with our meals. Main course of Sunday lunch was nice, apple pie dessert was not. Served with coconut vanilla ice cream. Ice cream was tasteless and it is beyond me why it was garnished with watercress? I love watercress but not as a dessert. We live very local but we won’t be rushing back.

I had the most delightful brunch experience here! The smoked salmon toast was absolutely divine—fresh, buttery slices of salmon layered over perfectly toasted bread, topped off with a refreshing squeeze of lemon that brought everything to life. The portion of cream on the side added a rich, tangy balance that made each bite irresistible. Simple ingredients done exceptionally well! What made it even better was the atmosphere. I sat outdoors, basking in the morning sun with a gentle breeze and a lovely garden view. The setting was peaceful and beautifully lit, making the whole experience feel like a little escape. There’s something special about enjoying quality food in a serene, sun-drenched spot—I’ll definitely be coming back for more!
