. Last night, my husband, daughter, and I, who were part of the XYZ wedding party, stayed at your hotel. While the front desk person and the telephone operator were understanding and helpful, the circumstances of our stay were intolerable. I am beyond disappointed by the hotel. In all my extensive travels, I have never, ever, not even in a Hostel with six people in bunk beds, have I encountered such a vile room as my daughter's. We walked in and immediately exited -- she is 30, not a kid, and I have to agree with her. The windows were COVERED with boxelder bugs. There were hundreds outside stuck on the windows and at least 30 inside. It was disgusting and certainly not something anyone would want to see in their room. These bugs are prevalent as it gets warmer (yesterday was a bit warmer than usual at this time of year,) and since this room was on the first floor, facing the sun, the bugs in the trees that clung to the windows and descended inside were out of control. I fully expect a complete reimbursement for this stay. Seeing that in the windows was so alarming that not only did my daughter - who had incidentally flown in from California - have to leave altogether, but all I could think of when I went to bed that night was the abhorrent vision of these bugs. She subsequently stayed in completely different accommodations. It is shocking that a hotel of the Hyatt's caliber would allow such a disturbing —and somewhat preventable—issue to occur. However, there are several immediate actions you could take to prevent such occurrences in the future. Seal windows, doors, and cracks to keep bugs from crawling into your home. Ensure there are no entryways that bugs can crawl through. Prune and maintain trees well, which will help reduce feeding options for bugs. Spraying your plants with natural, organic insecticides can also help. Clean up any seeds and lawn debris that can attract more bugs. Please advise - I should have taken photos, but it was so upsetting that we moved out as quickly as possible. I am attaching what they basically resembled.
