Alpine Motel

OK we were up in this neck of the woods near Ludington to visit our daughter, son-in-law and grandkids at a campground and I did not want to pay the exorbitant $200 plus price of the rooms in Ludington and I did not want to stay in the campground so I found this Alpine listed. It was so cheap it was scary. Well we got a cabin number 12 and the bedroom was fine. Nice and dark and a good bed but the bed right inside the front door was horrible. A real bad mattress needs to be replaced in the lights coming through that window are terrible so I did not sleep well. Air pressure. This is definitely a place for guys and Hunter and fisherman not the place to bring her wife which was my mistake but for $119 out the door on Friday night. It was a good taste of americana. It seems like it could be a fire hazard type of a place but the knotty Pine Was kind a cool place is very old but they got a new steel roof on top and the lady who checked us in named Tracy was very nice. She was from Kentucky and they’re doing their best here to make it a nice place gets a little noisy from the trucks at night, but we had our own fan which drowned out the noise pretty good, the wife said the place was not very clean which doesn’t bother me as bad as it does her and she could not take a shower because it was so gross. All right well it’s a one and done I don’t know what else to say but keep in mind if you got a regular motel room here it’s only 50 bucks come on people where are you gonna find a place to sleep if you could sleep for that price in this day and age of 2023 it’s such a joke. It’s so cheap, but anyway, give it a shot, especially if you’re a fisherman you’re right next to the Pierre Marquette river and they say that’s a great fishing spot so that’s about it

Messed up our arrival date but had the other four nights we reserved so found us a different room for one night and said we could move into the room we reserved the following day. The next morning they told us we had canceled and they rebooked our room to someone else. We did not cancel so they said *********** canceled it. When we called Booking they said they did not cancel us. It seemed like some kind of scam they run trying then to give us space in his camper. Oh. It was also filthy.

I expected a simple humble room at this price, but I didn't expect to have to clean the room. The air conditioning filter was disgusting. I cleaned that. Cleaned the shelf underneath the coffee pot...dust and powdered creamer spilled. Top of microwave and refrigerator....dust. Insides of drawers..leftover debris and dust from prior occupants. TV screen filthy with finger prints....remote control...just because! Floor not adequately swept behind the chair. I had to leave that because I didn't have a broom. Paneling around bathroom surround by sink splattered with toothpaste. Window by bed-dirty inside and out. Beyond the cleaning there are safety and security issues. First off...fire hazard. Tons of cords plugged into one power ***** that was hanging down a wall. Security. Screen door did not lock and was taped with some kind of metallic tape. No window on bottom of the screen door that you could close. Uncleaned smokers buckets outside the room. Yuck. Overpowering smell of chemical air freshener, but I suppose if you don't have clean air conditioning units, it would smell musty. I did the best I could with cleaning the filter, but these need taken out and professionally cleaned. Nasty! Good points. I was able to check in late by knocking on door number 5. The gentleman sleeping on the bed helped me out. It would not take much to spruce this up. Fresh paint and proper cleaning. You'd have lots of folks who don't want to pay the 150.00 a night in Ludington come down the road a bit. I came because I needed to take the ferry out of Ludington the next morning. Freshen up and clean up and just do better for heck's sake. Your guests deserve better and you could even charge a bit more. I wouldn't up your rates now until you get your act together!
