Third time staying there over the last five years and didn't disappoint! Comfortable, clean room - excellent shower! - and food amazing. Staff very attentive and friendly. We have every intention of going back for a fourth visit. Great base to head out to the wonderful Norfolk beaches.

Wow! A memorable Norfolk jewel of a hotel. Great and friendly service. We stayed in the Holkham suite which is tastefully decorated, spacious, comfy and cosy. We had dinner In the hotel restaurant, on both nights the food was absolutely delicious. There was a fine range of dishes on the menu, with dietary requirements catered for including gluten free. The breakfast options catered for all tastes. There was attention to detail in every aspect of our stay and we couldn't fault anything. Perfectly located to visit popular Norfolk sites. We are already looking forward to a return visit.

Just returned home after a lovely 2 night stay at the ship. The hotel is gorgeous, beautiful interiors and a lovely and lively garden in the evenings. Great selection of drinks and breakfast has been fab. Comfy beds and a good shower. The best thing about the hotel is the staff. They are so helpful and go above and beyond. Thank you to Phil who even gave us a lift to the next village a couple of times! Really great stay and we will certainly return! Thank you Sue, Phil, Chris and the whole team!

We had pre-booked a table for 6 people to have lunch at 2:15pm. We arrived on time and were shown to the table, which had only been set for 4 people which meant we had to pull a further 2 chairs up to the table, and had to request a wine list. We ordered a round of drinks for the table which took c. 15 minutes to arrive. We were waiting a considerable amount of time for a food menu. Eventually we called a waiter over to order some food and were told that the kitchen we no longer serving, despite having booked a table for lunch and not being warned of the kitchen closing time. The staff told us to be quick in ordering however took a further 10 minutes to come and take the order. The food eventually came and the waitress didn't even put the food at the correct place, she merely put them on the table for us to distribute accordingly. When the bill eventually came, we politely requested the *optional service charge was removed from the bill as we did not feel that we had received adequate service to warrant a tip, to which the manager began shouting that it as "shocking" that we wanted to rightfully remove the tip. He went on to say that the kitchen staff had stayed over time to prepare our food. My question to the owner is this... if your chefs are unwilling to work over their hours, why are you offering a reservation close to closing time whilst your staff are incapable of processing the orders to the kitchens in the correct timescale and working hours. If we were told that the kitchen were closing soon, we would have cooperated with the staff to help them work to their time scales.

Two families & grandparents back from the beach on a windy day. Couple of the youngster's a bit unwell, & one threw up in the bar? Barman totally unfazed, sorted it all. What a legend! Knew he would be, cos he'd already made the best Bloody Mary in the world for 'Nana"!

Stayed at the Ship for 3 nights midweek. Lovely room with comfy bed. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Stayed on B&B basis. Generous continental buffet as well as a variety of cooked dishes made to order. Ate in restaurant one night and had the cauliflower curry which was very tasty.

Thank you Marcus, Vicky, Jack, Jamie, Chef and all. Two dogs, a 60th b'day family get together all weekend, two vegans, two pescatarians and two veggies and still they gave us the most warm welcome, great rooms, delicious meals and breakfast by an amazing chef. Atmosphere is relaxing, very social and fun. Good luck for the summer Vicky & Marcus, see you guys soon. Toni, Grant, Ted & Bella Caio.

A midweek break for a couple of nights. The room was extremely comfortable and well-equipped. The food was all freshly cooked and very tasty. There were different specials each night. The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. We will definitely go again.
