Widbrook Grange

Lovely location not far from Bradford-on-Avon. We had room 14 which was in the courtyard next to the swimming pool. Comfy beds and when we were shown to our room all looked good. When we returned after going out for dinner we then noticed that the toilet had not been cleaned properly since the previous occupant. The tea/coffee tray had no tea. Breakfast was lovely. We had some drinks from the bar, staff need some customer service training.

I stayed at Widbrook Grange for one night during a business trip and had a fantastic experience. I booked a cosy double room, and while it was on the smaller side (as expected), it was absolutely perfect for what I needed. The room was spotless — the bed and bathroom were both immaculately clean, and the pillows were so fluffy and comfortable, making for a really relaxing and restful stay. The staff were brilliant. Everyone I spoke to was friendly, helpful, and welcoming. One of the team even kindly carried my bag for me, which was a lovely touch. Their warm attitude really made a difference. I also made use of the swimming pool, which was excellent — a real bonus after a long day. It’s a real shame I was only there for one night, as it was such a lovely stay. I would absolutely recommend Widbrook Grange and would love to return for a longer visit next time!

The food was excellent but the menu only changes every three months. Maintenance was very poor, with peeling paintwork and torn curtains / blinds. We had three rooms, one of which had plumbing issues, which were reported, but nothing was done until the toilet was unusable and they were moved.

Disappointed, especially with the room (Piggery no 7) - the bathroom was in poor condition and smelt unpleasant. Feedback was shared with the staff whilst I was there and a promised response from the General Manager has been a week in the waiting! Spoilt what should have been a celebratory birthday weekend. In summary, room bore no resemblance to those represented on the website.

The location is convenient for Bath via the train and many of the interesting villages. The staff are wonderful, the restaurant menu though limited is wonderful. The room was immaculate as was the bathroom which had a bath and separate shower. Highly Recommended.

We stayed in this hotel on a 2 night dinner B&B package which was very reasonable. We were in the Artist room which had a roll-top bath, which was divine. The room is very spacious and spotlessly clean, bed is so comfortable, generous size and glorious bedding, we actually came away with the linen details to purchase for home. The only criticism would be that some of the bedroom furniture is a little too ‘shabby’ rather than shabby-chic - the wardrobe hanging space is limited – so if you’re hanging more than 6 dresses, you would struggle. Breakfast was exceptional. All freshly prepared for you and exactly as you like it. We discovered too late that there is a swimming pool, so didn’t take advantage of that – wish we had! The bar area is really comfy and nice spot to have a G&T, for which they have an extensive menu. There is a separate bar area for those with dogs, so you can have a relaxing drink with your pooch, if you have one – or go to the other bar area if you prefer. As we were blessed with good weather, we opted for drinks outside in the patio over looking the many apple trees. We had an evening dinner included, which was a little hit and miss. The Pork dish was advertised as crispy crackling, but it wasn’t. Slow cooked lamb was good. We only dined at the hotel once, so can not speak for the rest of the menu. Front of house and all the team are really attentive. We had bought a bottle of wine for our room, which I finished the 2nd night and they happily provided ice bucket and glasses for the next day. All in all this is a quirky individual hotel, set in lovely grounds with loads of character and within walking distance of the main town and we really enjoyed out stay there.
