Management is a cheat. Stay away! I booked a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom suite for 7 people (with an oven). I am lifetime gold, and had mobile checked in via the app 2 full days prior. When I arrived, the night clerk with zero sense or authority told me instead we had to take 2 small rooms, non-connecting, and with no oven. There was indeed a vacant 2 bedroom suite (like I reserved) when I arrived, but management gave it away to someone who was arriving later. (It was apparent that they decided to give mine away just earlier that day, as the clerk called this other guest in front of me, to see if they would give up the suite, which of course they did not). By the way, management was too chicken and unprofessional to speak with me…, but instead passed it off on the night clerk to be the messenger. FYI it’s not a reasonable alternative to give 2 small non-connecting rooms to a family with toddlers, who reserved and paid for a 2 bedroom/2 bathroom space. Also great that we stopped at the grocery story just before checking in to buy frozen pizzas and cookie dough for dinner, but now had no oven. We all crammed into one small gross, leftover room, as splitting into 2 fully separate rooms was never an option for our family with young kids. We actually chose this hotel, despite being a half hour away from our cruise terminal, specifically for this suite that accommodates us together. No dinner for the kids because no oven, so again got the ‘too bad for you’ response. Smelly, hard carpet…..Sofa “mattress” thin and gross. And, no worries, I would still “only” be charged for the 2 bed suite that I didn’t get!! (They had emailed me a form letter saying they weren’t giving me my suite just a few hours earlier, conveniently sent during my flight here! So apparently that makes this all fine.) There were nearby Marriott properties I found that had available rooms to accommodate us 7, so their other offered solution was to cancel my room (at 8pm after traveling all day), and we could drive to another hotel and pay whatever their rack rate was, as they wouldn’t transfer and honor my rate. Positively disgusting experience. The staff here is clearly incompetent and treats their guests, including those with “loyalty” status, absolutely horribly. If on the other hand, you want to be cheated, overcharged, and have your booked room and space severely and impossibly downgraded, and basically get screwed over, then by all means please stay here.
