Residence Inn Rapid City

I enjoyed my time there. The rooms are good, the staff are friendly and welcoming. The location is only ok if you've got a car and/or need a place to crash off the interstate.

Good rooms had 2 queens and pull out and kitchen . Pull out is fine for a kid but isnt very comfy . Room smell weird but maybe was from previous guests not sure like a wood or food smell but room was very clean and works good .water park is great and accessible from the hotel thru a connecetion hallway and is secure safe place . Rapid city itself is nice town and lots of food options . water park food is good and good bars in it and decent prices . My kids rate it 10/10 i rate it 9/10 overall . I will return !

We have enjoyed staying at this hotel for almost a decade every year during black hills stock show. It’s always been very clean and staff has been great. This year we walked into our normal suite and were blasted with the smell of pot. So strong we could chew it. My 3 small children put their swim suits on and my husband took them to the water park while I went to the front desk. Front desk said they couldn’t do anything about it. After returning to the room it suddenly had taken on the smell of cigarette smoke which was literally rolling from under the door to the adjoining room next to us. On my way to the bathroom I discovered human feces on the kitchen floor and that someone had very recently showered in the shower. I asked for our room to be recleaned and they said no. They did give us another room, not as nice as the suite we had paid for. The next morning I thought the manager could do something better… like a free stay or at least he reassurance that our stay would be better next year. She actually told me she knew the other guest was using our room, using ***** and breaking hotel policy but she was an extended stay guest and they didn’t want to disturb her!!! I asked for a full refund then. She laughed and said only if we’d leave. No apologies for human feces, our luggage & clothing was rancid from the few hours it was in our hotel room it was that bad. So frustrating!!
