Cracking little guest house run by friendly couple in great location. Room was clean and comfortable with small bathroom outside room, which was lovely. Breakfast was very pleasant too and we were made to feel welcome. Highly recommended.

We stayed at the Marlborough Guest house for two days. The location was great, just a short walk into Bowness and close to a bus stop from which you can jump on the hop on, hop off bus to view other towns in the area. There was 3 private parking spaces available and others on road. Julie and Russell were lovely hosts and their guest house was comfortable and clean, with the rooms containing everything you required. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order. We had a lovely stay, without fault. Thanks again Julie and Russell

Lovely hosts, breakfast was really good probably the best we have had in the lakes. Room on ground floor was very comfortable and had everthing you needed toiletries were very generous All in all a good weekennd stay and would definately book again

Stayed for 1 night at The Melbourne guest house, a very enjoyable stay, we were met by the owner on arrival who was warm and welcoming . We were allocated room 1 , on the ground floor at the front of the property , the room was a little small but perfect for our short stay , beautifully furnished, comfy bed with quality linen this room has en-suite shower. The whole place was spotlessly clean , great breakfast room and breakfast was cooked to order. Free parking is available for the duration of your stay which is an added bonus, less than a 10 min walk to the centre so a great location. We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend it. We would certainly return without hesitation Paul & Wendy

Met by Russell and Julie. Excellent hosts. Personal attention but not overly done. The room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfasts freshly cooked to order. Piping hot and tasty. Parking spaces in their private area along the street, which is a perfect addition. The towns restaurants within 1/4 mile, a few closer. Highly recommended.

The guest house was in a perfect location close to a pub, cinema/theatre and restaurants. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. An excellent freshly cooked breakfast was served alongside cereals, fruit, yoghurt and toast etc. The hosts helped make our stay even better. Russell and Julie are very friendly and do their best to make your stay enjoyable. A return is definitely on the cards. Thank you for all you done Russell & Julie.

If you’re looking for a clean quiet place to stay , it’s cosy & home from home… look no further! stayed here for two nights , Julie and Russell very good hosts , breakfast perfect …would definitely come back again thank you very much… parking not a problem free parking on the road and there are available spaces with the The Guest House shop are just a few minutes walk down the road, various restaurants and bars ideal for couples Dave

Great small and friendly guest house located close to everything in Bowness with free parking. Nice rooms with comfortable beds adequate shower room plus tea and coffee facilities. Lovely cooked English breakfast served with a smile and chat. We stayed two nights over the weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the heart of the Lake District. We would definitely recommend and use The Melbourne guest house again.
