Return visit to Virginia Cottage and Honestly you couldn't ask for a better guest house or couple of Hosts, Angus and Sherry couldn't do enough for us (or Brian 🐶) would highly recommend a visit such a lovely place and perfect location ❤️💖❤️

What a wonderful place to stay. We joined with a group of Veterans for Christmas and have had a great time. Angus and Sherry have made this Christmas very memorable for us all. They have gone out of their way to make us welcome. The accommodation is a few minutes from a very vibrant Bowness town centre. We were greeted with goodies in our room on arrival. Nothing was too much for Angus & Sherry. The guest house is dog friendly and there were treats for our Jelly Bean. There is a pub next door which was very accommodating as well as a wine bar down the road ran by personal friends of Angus who welcomed us as friends. We had Christmas dinner in the nearby Village Inn, also dog friendly. The rooms are very comfortable. We had a 4 poster bed and the room was en-suite with a TV and kettle for hot drinks.

Virginia Cottage is the best guest house my wife and I have ever stayed in. Spent the whole of Christmas, the owners Angus and Sherry were very friendly and helpful. They both went out of their way to make sure that we enjoyed our stay. The ensuite room was very comfortable and very clean. Dogs are welcome Virginia Cottage even supply dog beds if required. We will definitely stay again. Car parks are nearby as they do not have their own car park.

We have just returned from our first visit to Virginia Cottage. It will not be our last. We have had the best of times with the best of hosts. Our first proper holiday away together, and we have made memories that will last a lifetime. Angus and Sherrie made our stay exceptional, from the room, the facilities, the advice on where to go, where to eat we couldn't have asked for more. As for the breakfast, absolutely outstanding and set us up for the day, every day. You will not regret booking here, I guarantee it. We will definitely be back again. We have made friends for life in Angus and Sherrie, and we can't thank them enough.

Fantastic location for lakeside Bowness-on-Windermere with everything on your doorstep! Angus and Cherie are most welcoming hosts and the accommodation is fantastically rustic! First class breakfast sets you on the right path for adventures. Thank you for a truly memorable break!

The welcome from Angus and Sherry was second to none. They were welcoming and extremely friendly. The room was very pleasant and very clean. The breakfasts were excellent. Not a lot of things bad to say about our stay just a pity about there being no parking. However soon got over that. All Veterans are given a great welcome it helps with Angus being a Veteran as well and Veterans given a discount. Call and you will be given a price. Will definitely be back.

Lovely place right in the middle of town,Lovely room,fantastic hosts,didn't have breakfast so can't comment Just a warning if you fancy a late drink on your way back don't rely on the 2 pubs next door,fine during the day but not after ten o clock

Joined the Bowness On Windermere group as we were visiting and had provisionally booked Virginia Cottage. We decided not to stay with Angus and Sherry because of some disgusting remarks to members of the public which were left by Angus. This man is misogynistic, anti trans, anti vegan and extremely rude when someone asked about ‘cruelty free’. This man is horrible. I would avoid like the plague.

What an amazing welcome! The room was cosy and spotless and the bed was comfortable. Angus and Sherry made us feel very much at home and looked after us royally. The breakfast choices were great so I don’t think anyone would leave this place hungry. A great centre for eating places for lunch or dinner (lots of variety in a walking radius of less than ten minutes) and exploring the south Lakes. If you need suggestions, the hosts have lots of different ideas to suit all tastes.
