Tru by Hilton Bowling Green

Not one single complaint regarding our stay at the Tru by Hilton in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The room was modern, spacious, clean with a great Heating/Cooling system that was not noisy. Our contact with Alice working in the Continental Breakfast area was exhilarating. She is the true epitome of Southern Hospitality! She treated us like family.

I stayed at the Hilton Tru in Bowling Green as it was close to the reunion venue that I was attending. Nice rooms and eating area. I had a room with a King bed. There was also a large open area for families to have indoor activities. The hotel was located a few blocks off the main road which gave me a little trouble on finding the hotel in the dark. The same highway also gave me access to my venue.

The room was clean amd comfortable. My kids enjoyed the breakfasts amd the game area in the lobby. The.pool was heated. We travel with medications that require frozen ice packs. The staff at the front desk was more than happy to assist us with this request, since the room refrigerator did not have a freezer. The lobby always had coffee and tea available. I would stay here again.

I won’t reiterate the accurate descriptions of this brand that that has introduced the European appeal for minimalism with America’s demand for spaces that lend themselves to productivity. I suspect great effort is expended to maintain consistency among the franchise, but this property simply must be unique. What is unusual about here is the quality of the staff. Everyone (and I mean everyone to a person) was outgoing, friendly, helpful, efficient, and quick to anticipate the customer’s needs or offer solutions to problems. As a first-time customer, I feel my level of scrutiny was perhaps a bit higher than some. Still I found that every detail about this hotel was perfect. I especially appreciated the spotless room and common spaces. The gym was well appointed and the breakfast simple yet tasty with fresh fruit and fantastic coffee. I absentmindedly left my favorite pillow in the room after check out. A phone call to Cody at the front desk that afternoon ensured it was there a week later to pick it up when I was again passing through the area.

1) The virtual key did not work, meaning I had to wait in line to check in after carrying my stuff to the room. 2) Lights over beds are very bright and you can't turn off the lights over just one bed. 3) The beds were incredibly uncomfortable. 4) If you like a hot shower, prepare for warm water. 5) Multiple flushes are required to empty the toilet. There are many options in the area and I would suggest checking them out instead of staying here.

Very disappointing. Was dirty! Bathroom was very dirty. Not well maintained. Gouges in the room walls. Rooms were very loud. Bed linens were very thin. Needed my own blanket just to stay warm. Smelled of deodorizer that was covering up a smoking issue. Will not choose this hotel again.

While the price was nice, the location was great, and the staff and amenities were outstanding, our bed was too firm, unlike many of the other Hilton hotels brands we have stayed at before. This was our first stay at a Tru, and while the style is likely great for families with kids, due to the fun bright decor design, and game tables in the lobby, our room only had basic needs with it's minimal furniture style, and we found that we prefer a little more plushness to our stays. With the hidden areas under the bed for suitcases, and the mini fridge on the floor underneath a bench area for hanging clothes in an open concept closet area with iron and ironing board hanging in full view of the room, with no door to hide it, this was too much like college dorm life for us Grandparents. We did not have a coffee pot in our room, which is desired, and the mattress was too firm for us middle aged couple. We prefer at least just a bit softer mattress. We have never had a bad experience mattress wise when we have stayed at the Home 2 Suites, Embassy Suites, Double Trees or Hampton Inns that Hilton owns, but Tru let us down and we left with aching backs. Needless to say Tru is truly not for us.

The location is great and amenities are wonderful. However, when I checked into my room I noticed that there were hairs and crumbs in the bedding from a previous guest I'm assuming. The toilet also needed to be cleaned. I called down to the front desk and Rob (front desk worker) was so helpful - he immediately came with fresh bedding, apologized profusely, changed my bedding, and then said he would let management know about the dirty bedding. I appreciate how he took care of me!

This may be a Hilton Tru "brand" hotel, but it does not provide the usual Hilton standards we are used to at other Hilton hotels. When you enter the lobby it feels more like you have entered an arcade due to the carnival colors and two foosball tables, not to mention the pre-school influenced mural on the wall. If there were rainbow colored mats and parachutes I could have easily thought I was at a Gymboree class. The decor and design was trendy and contemporary. The sitting chair in the guest room had not back support for my husband. The refrigerator was half the size of a normal hotel fridge. One of the worst features were the 2 inset reading lights above the headboard to aid with reading. They were bright enough to perform a police investigation or land a plane. There was only one switch so either they both had to be on or off, keeping one from going to sleep while the other person read. Terrible design. Oh, it gets better! There was an emergency light up by the ceiling above the bed that was flashing the entire time. Couldn't see it in the daytime when we arrived, but it continued to flash all night long. Made sleeping very difficult. TV channel list did not work, making it difficult to watch a show of your choice. Oh and our keys did not work for the external entrance at the end of the hall. This one night stay was not relaxing at any time. I do not recommend this hotel.
