Harbour Lights Caravan Park

While this was situated well, the amenities were not cleaned the entire time we stayed and were not stocked daily. One bathroom did not have hand soap at all and at least 2 bathrooms ran out of toilet paper for a time. We were advised we could access 6 ensuite bathrooms during our stay, however they closed 3 of them the day after we arrived.

Close to town, yacht club, Birds fish bar (great) plus foreshore with playgrounds and beach. Quiet older park, but fairly clean with easy sites, some drive through and short-term guests are separate from long-term. Good base to explore Bowen for a few days.

The comical thing we found was you fill in a covid survey before checking in but the facilities are substandard with lack of soap and hand towel in some toilets. The park itself seemed to be built for 15foot vans so some sites are impossible to access if you have a 21 foot plus van.

Good location easy to walk into town. There are a number of permanents whose sites just look a mess. Not a good look and makes the park look rundown. Also, the management do not take strong enough action against residents dogs who bark a lot. Probably the poorest park in Bowen but could do a lot better with stronger management policies that are applied.

This park is centrally located to explore Bowen, whether it's the waterfront or the CBD . I found Debbie and all staff to be friendly,helpful, and welcoming. The pool area and amenities were clean and tidy. Definitely recommend this park 👌

We stayed in 'the cottage' (not) for 5 nights. The standout for us was the rudeness and abruptness of Debbie at reception. As paying clients we were treated as annoyances. There were no batteries for remotes for the air con or TV. No hanging space for clothes. Mould in bathroom. Bedside lamp held together with sticky tape and fell apart when turned on...no replacement, no apology, told 'i don't want it, throw it in the bin.' No covered verandah - it was a 3 ft wide concrete pad with 3 chairs and a large table. Microwave situated on top of fridge and unreachable. Yes, 'the cottage' was spacious, but also cheap and grubby feeling.,,,a reflection of the business acumen of owners.
