Oaks Brisbane Mews Suites

I have travelled extensively all over the globe for many years. I have stayed in five-star luxury resorts and backpacker lodges in Asia. But there has been no more pleasant, relaxing stay than at the Oaks Brisbane Mews. Located across the road from the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital, where I had come for medical treatment, I was booked for an extensive twelve-day stay in one of their delightful, comfortable two-bedroom units. From what I was getting, the pricing was exceptional, something. I would classify it in the four to five-star category. The manager, Rose, welcomed me as a returning friend and could not have been more helpful in getting me settled into my digs. Macca, the Facilities Manager, responded to all my queries and assisted me in settling in. They are a fantastic team. My room had everything I needed for a lengthy stay; all the facilities had a washing & drying machine—a fully equipped kitchen and high-speed internet. I could go on. If I ever decide to sell my home on Norfolk Island to move back to the mainland, I would start my accommodation search and hopefully finish at the Oak Mews. I strongly suggest anyone who has to go to Brisbane for any reason consider this fantastic place. It has won my heart.

We have at the Annex Apartments on 2 occasions now as hubby had appointments at the Royal Brisbane Hospital, no need to use the car as the hospital was across the road. They are very clean apartments with everything you need, stack are very friendly and helpful. There is a Vietnamese restaurant down stairs that has a great Pho on its menu and around the corner is a great cafe for breakfast and lunch, highly recommend.

Let's start with the booking process. I used ********** and thought it was all done. Noo...got an message that i needed to supply a copy of my licence, then a 'selfie' to be sure it was really me. Got that sorted, then had to pay a security deposit - not unreasonable, until it was in US dollars. Why?? Not happy that none of this stuff was mentioned on the ********** site. Anyway was too lazy to cancel and book elsewhere so got past this. Thankfully there was a very helpful person answering calls! Tech entry system thankfully supplemented on request by a key fob. Lovely new apartment, two bedroom two bathroom. Well equipped and very clean. Nice towels. Comfy beds. Couch average. Great rooftop pool area if you're so inclined. Good parking. A noisy location, not helped by tradies hire place nextdoor and busy roads. Very handy to a rail station and walking distance to Breakfast Creek hotel (great steak. booking may be needed). I hope housekeeping doesn't have a huge supply of 'who gives a crap' toilet paper...it's crap!
Belise Apartments

We stayed for 5 nights over Christmas period, I would say the apartment was between average to very good. Size wise, the two bedroom apartment was ideal for 2 adults and one child, had a separate laundry room and two bathrooms (no bath tub). Kitchen whilst good was lacking in utensils and other cooking items and basic things like oven mitts. We had to either keep washing up or running the dishwasher constantly. The apartment whilst good size wise and having what you needed furniture wise was in desperate need of a good deep clean. Around the bathroom was grotty, the washing machine was also a bit dirty as was around the seals of the rubbish bin, dishwasher and fridge. The underneath of beds and around skirting looked like hadn’t seen a vacuum in quite some time. Noise was also an issue, we could hear above and beside us. Parking was available in a secure underground area and easy walk to train station, places to eat and shops. Pool area was good and our daughter happily used it. For the price it was ok but we would only stay again if the price was right.
Rydges Fortitude Valley Brisbane, an EVT hotel

We stayed there 2 nights. 10 to 15mins walk from the Fortitude Valley station, King Street has various bars & restaurants to choose. Room has lots of plugs for phone /computer recharging which is great. One thing dislike is the window can't be opened which you have to turn on the air-con all the time. Personally don't like the bed as it's too soft. The whole bed stuffs & blanket are more like equipped for winter, too hot for summer.
