Anse Chastanet Resort

10/10 stay. Highly recommend. We will be returning. The rooms - we went for the lowest tier of room, the hillside option, and it was lovely. We were in 8C which had the most amazing view over the greenery with a little opening in the middle of the beach and sea. We got to see the most beautiful sunsets from our balcony! It was so peaceful and tucked away. We are keen to try the Beachside villa option when we come back just to experience another room/area. The fridge is always stocked with drinks. When the room is turned down in the evenings they always light the lovely smelling stuff that helps to keep the mosquitoes away. The staff - similarly to Jade Mountain, I’ve never known such friendly, hilarious and down to earth staff. Every single one of them made our stay special and I can’t imagine how many hours they work and yet always have a friendly smile! They were exceptional and their memories blow me away - they would ask how various trips were that we’d mentioned we were doing on any given day, always remembered our names and room numbers and were always so accommodating (our party was split across two rooms but we liked to eat together). Yanic was the manager who showed us round and he had us laughing the whole time, just oozed joyfulness (as everyone does here! Anything I tried to do myself I was told “you’re on vacation” and to let them do it for me) and was so incredibly helpful. He also kindly sorted our upgrade to Jade for a couple of days (reviewed separately) which was an experience of a lifetime for us. They never make you feel like any request is too much. The beach is wonderful, we spent a lot of time snorkelling at either end of the beach and got to see two turtles on the right hand side with the rocks. They sort your out with towels and you can order drinks to your little hut area as and when you like. There was only really one day we noticed it was a bit busy as all beaches are public beaches, but the staff do well to try to keep it a very calm and quiet area to relax. The food was amazing. Absolutely top tier - and massive portions so you will never go hungry! Highly recommend the shrimp cocktail and the Caribbean fried chicken at lunch, along with the 5 layer chocolate cake. You can’t go wrong! Highly recommend booking at least one evening at the tandoori restaurant, I wish we’d done that more than once to be honest. Every cocktail is tasty and they are always happy to try making something not on the menu. I wish I could remember the name of the lovely (and also hilarious) man who made my husband the most delicious passion fruit drink at random because he couldn’t decide what he fancied. The whole holiday has been wonderful for us. We came with my husband’s parents and have enjoyed soaking in every second as a family. We have all been talking about when we want to return and bring other family members with us to experience the joy of it. I can’t recommend it enough!

We celebrated our 55th anniversary with a trip to Anse Chastanet - it was a great choice.  The resort is absolutely stunning, nestled in lush surroundings with views of the Pitons. Given my wife’s mobility challenges, I was a bit apprehensive about the hilly terrain and numerous steps, but the shuttle service made everything easily accessible. Choosing a beach-level room was a great decision—the room was spacious, beautifully appointed, and incredibly comfortable. We especially loved the outdoor, covered seating area.  Food was good - comparable with other high end Caribbean resorts. It featured local ingredients with an Indian influence. Our only disappointment was there was unusually rough water and swimming and snorkeling was not recommended.  What made this trip exceptional was the people.  Everyone from our taxi drivers, hotel managers and the entire staff were friendly and helpful.  Their kindness and hospitality turned a wonderful trip into a memorable experience.

This was our second trip to Anse Chastanet and we hope there will be a third. The beaches there are gorgeous— there are two of them, each framed by picturesque rock formations. We found plenty of beach activities, took in several boat rides of the shoreline, and just read under the ample palapas. The food was remarkably delicious and the service staff was friendly and spot on. Yet we never had the feeling of being at a sprawling resort, this resort remains right-sized. Our “cabin” was comfortable and naturalistic with a large open veranda and gorgeous views. We enjoyed the birds that came to visit and woke us up in the am with their delightful songs. We even liked climbing the roughly 250 steps from the beach to our cabin— plenty of views to take in along the way. Overall, we highly recommend.
