Lovely BnB with comfy beds & nicely furnished rooms, being an old place it has quirky little nooks. Nice breakfast also provided.

Stayed in big family room 5. Delicious breakfasts and cream tea. Very helpful staff, particularly when we got soaked in downpours, taking our clothes to dry and providing heater. Old building might not suit those with mobility issues.

If I had of read other reviews I may not of chosen to stay here. Anyway I'm just saying how I found it. The bed was extremely comfortable and I had the best night sleep I've had in ages. The shower worked well and no issue with pressure. All good. The breakfast was really tasty. The place is a bit quirky but I like quirky. The people were lovely. Very central location. Ohhh I didn't mention snacks in the room which were yummy. The place is old. I'm old, I like old. If we came back to the area we would stay here. Only one constructive comment for improvement; upgrade the towels or wash them differently. I thought they were quite hard when used for the first time. Really loved our stay.

We were given a room in the attic which was appauling . The bathroom was tiny , shower poorly cleaned . Toilet running after flushing . Window glass broken . Room smelt . Dirty carpet. Holes in the wall . Small pipe instead of wardrobe . Lighting inadequate. Towels thin , extremely poor quality and smelt . No staff available whatsoever. Asked for another room - told none available even though some guests checked out due to disgusting state of the place . Entrance into the place very off putting - back door of the kitchen basically . Not as advertised . Very very disappointing. Received a text on day of checkout to say we were entitled to a free afternoon tea only to be had on arrival date !

The room was nicely appointed but cold and damp . I was told the heating was going to come on in my room but when I returned after dinner ( about 8.30 pm ) I found the room still very cold and damp .. over night it was 7degrees outside but the room felt colder - I don’t think it had been heated for some time . At 9pm ( approx) tried the 2 emergency phone numbers to ask about a heater or a blanket but no one answered my calls and texts .. I also called the main number given in the room but although this offered to put me through to the out of hours service . I was then informed this service was not available . I tried the numbers several times and gave up sleeping in my thermals with my towels on top of the quilt ! So if I had been locked out I would have been out all night! There appears to be no one in charge staying in the place over night so the emergency numbers could be vital .
