Nice but lobby no good

We visited in 2021 and although room was small, it was quirky and welcoming. We paid for a superior room this time but was disappointed with a lot of aspects of our stay. Perfect location though 👍🏼

The pretty picture of the Cotswolds frontage is a clothes shop also called Chestnut. Your accommodation is above the shops on the right. There's no sign so head through the alleyway on the right.

The B&B itself is tucked away but we were provided with plenty of information prior our stay telling us how to find the property and parking spaces. Check in was easy and our room was perfect for our one night stay. The building itself is 300 years old and, as can be expected, has some uneven flooring, low doors and steps. This just added to the charm. The shower in our room was faulty to the point we couldn’t use it, which on a day the weather exceeded 30 degrees was a bit inconvenient but we managed. Breakfast was delicious and all staff we met during our stay were welcoming and helpful. We would love to stay here again.

Lovely B&B in an excellent location in the centre of Bourton-on-the-Water. Limited parking available but we were lucky each time we needed it, the spaces were there. Staff were lovely and I like pre-ordering breakfast times & menu items the night before. Room was lovely but beware that this is a very old building so not everything is perfect: you can hear toilets flushing at times, floors are uneven, the door on our bathroom was a barn-style that didn't fully close which could be an issue depending on who you're sharing the room with, etc. but it all adds to the charm of the place. We felt we got good value as accommodation is not cheap in the Cotswolds.
