This hotel is in a quiet, very rural location, nestled among the various parcels of Grand Staircase - Escalante National Monument, and within easy reach of both Capitol Reef NP and Bryce Canyon NP as well. We stayed three nights in a huge, luxurious 'cabin' (half of a duplex), with a living-room area, a dining area, kitchenette, even a guest bath. Everything was terrific. We were out and about throughout the days, so we really didn't have a chance to fully enjoy it all, let alone the various amenities on the property - - common room / yoga studio etc. - - but when we were in the room, we found it to be relaxing and completely comfortable. A grassy area and bird sanctuary lay just outside our door, making morning coffee on the patio a delight. The hotel has recently been acquired by the owners and operators of the hugely successful Hell's Backbone Grill - - that's a gem not to be missed! - - and it's clear that they are bringing the same spirit, enthusiasm, and energy to the Lodge. We will return here at every opportunity.

My husband and I took a little getaway to celebrate our 31st anniversary. How I wish we had been able to stay for more than just one night. The room was so cozy and the bed was amazingly comfy. The property was idyllic and the restaurant was delightful. I was so pleased to experience the professionalism of the staff in this wonderful small town. We will definitely be back. I would love to make it at least a once a year tradition. (Honey, what do you think?)

I'm so happy Boulder Mountain Lodge now has nice new electric tea kettles in each room! Now I can make my Aeropress coffee and my afternoon tea and not have to use the capsule coffee makers that were previously here or try to use the microwave to heat water. Coffee is also now available in the common room in the morning if you don't want to make it. Also the lodge has upgraded pillows and linens in the rooms as well. Definitely some improvements at the lodge. Loved it!

The rooms are very nice. Bed is comfortable. Bathroom is very upscale and towels are very high quality. HOWEVER BE AWARE, the air conditioning is motion sensitive. You will have to get up multiple times in the night to decrease the temperature so as to attempt to keep the air conditioner cooling the room. Otherwise it will think that no one is there. Perhaps there is a way to override this function ALSO, even though there are NO "Do Not Disturb" signs for use on your door knob, the cleaning crew will wake you up in the morning. Be sure to ask for a DO NOT DISTURB sign so that you can sleep in if desired!!!!! The food at the restaurant is delicious: worth the price (even if you have to suffer through a very obsequious, bordering on weird, waiter).

My husband and I stayed one night at Boulder Mountain Lodge--our first trip back in many years. Our room was wonderful. It was super quiet, had a comfortable bed, a little table to get some work done, kitchenette items so we could make coffee in the room as well as a fridge (to store leftovers from dinner). The adirondack chairs outside the room made a relaxing place to read a book or watch birds dip in and out of the wetlands. We also took advantage of the common building's upper balcony overlooking the bird sanctuary and pond. It's an incredible sight in the desert. Every staff member we interacted with was super friendly and helpful. The Lodge also has a little gift shop in the registration building. We had a tasty lunch at Burr Trail Grill and a delicious dinner at Hell's Backbone Grill (which is on the grounds of the the Lodge). HBG is a bit of a splurge, but absolutely worth it. BML was the perfect place to beat the heat from Salt Lake (it was over 100 in SLC but only low 80s in Boulder!) and be spoiled by both the scenery and the accommodations. Wish we'd had time for a longer stay. We won't wait so long to return for our next visit!

Nice stay as usual, though the shower/toilet room needs more light. There's only the single built-in light in the fan for the entire room and it's quite dim in there. Make sure to stop by the restaurant for lunch or dinner, though unfortunately they've stopped doing breakfast.

Wow - this is a very special place! My wife & I spent two nights here recently, and we're both looking forward to an opportunity to return. The property is beautiful; both inside & out. Our room was large, clean, and perfectly equipped for a great stay - we really appreciated being able to make a quick cup of coffee before we ducked out to watch the desert sunrise. The gardens & pond were gorgeous, and the hot tub was the perfect way to celebrate a long day of hiking. Erica at the Front Desk made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived, and was a great resource for knowledge of the area (restaurants, hikes, etc.) throughout our stay. We'll be back!

We stayed at the Boulder Mountain Lodge for a girl's weekend, and it was the perfect mid-summer getaway in the desert. Our room was spacious and clean, with a great patio area to sit and look out over the pond. The beds were incredibly comfortable. So nice to come back to an air conditioned room after hiking and biking in the heat. The staff was super friendly and informative about activities to do in the area. Loved exploring the grounds and walking back to our room after delicious dinner at Hell's Backbone Grill. Look forward to staying again!

If you’re looking for comfortable lodging in an area of spectacular natural beauty, you could do no better than Boulder Mountain Lodge. Set out all day to hike or bike, then come home to soothe your tired muscles in the on-site hot tub and fall into a comfortable bed for a restful night. Plan ahead to eat at the award-winning Hells Backbone Grill, which is on the property but separately owned. Reservations highly recommended. There are other dining options nearby or you can bring your groceries and cook in. There’s a handy fire pit on the expansive lawn where the kids can make s’mores, or try a spirited game of badminton. The staff is friendly and responsive and will share suggestions for outdoor excursions in the surrounding area. The Anasazi State Park Museum is within walking distance and provides a good overview of early inhabitants of the area.
