Fabulous experience, once again! With reemt new ownership of the Lodge by the Hell's Backbone folks, the Lodge and restaurant staff seem even friendlier. Always helpful and accomodating. Our room balcony overlooked the bird sanctuary which is always abuzz with activity. The grounds are beautiful and of course Mother Nature has done her absolute best in the Grand Staircase Escalante national park. And don't forget all the adventures on the Burr Trail, just outside the Lodge. The addition of Little Bone, the cute purple food truck on premises for lunch, is delish, as is everything from Hell's Backbone Grill. Be sure to make reservations there ahead of time.

We built a trip to Utah around staying at Boulder Mountain Lodge and eating at Hell's Backbone Grill. Our experience exceeded expectations in every way, from the warm, hospitality to the comfort of our room, the tranquil setting and amazing bird sanctuary outside our door to the lovely outdoor hot tub which was a great way to soak our weary bones...and THE FOOD! We had one dinner and two breakfasts at the Lil Bone food truck, which is a wonderful addition to the HBG&F community. We had a delicious dinner at HBG and had the pleasure of finally meeting Blake, who was off to a Town Council meeting. Of course she was. Her energy, warmth and civic engagement exemplify the special vibe of HBG&F and now Boulder Mountain Lodge. We can't wait to return.

This was the best place we stayed on our whole holiday. The room was spacious, clean, comfortable and quiet. There were china cups in the room for tea or coffee as opposed to the ubiquitous paper ones. The delicious breakfast was from a trailer in the car park where the food was made to order and they had china plates and proper cutlery too! There is a lake behind the hotel which is has many different kinds of water birds. Hell’s Backbone Grill is on the doorstep and not to be missed. Book early.

Went here with the Backyard tour group - best place ever. I would go here again even if I didn't go witgh a tour group. The location was perfect. The restuarant and service (our waiter was Izzy for two nights) was phenomenal. The food choices were great. Even the owner comes around to talk to you.

This hotel is in a quiet, very rural location, nestled among the various parcels of Grand Staircase - Escalante National Monument, and within easy reach of both Capitol Reef NP and Bryce Canyon NP as well. We stayed three nights in a huge, luxurious 'cabin' (half of a duplex), with a living-room area, a dining area, kitchenette, even a guest bath. Everything was terrific. We were out and about throughout the days, so we really didn't have a chance to fully enjoy it all, let alone the various amenities on the property - - common room / yoga studio etc. - - but when we were in the room, we found it to be relaxing and completely comfortable. A grassy area and bird sanctuary lay just outside our door, making morning coffee on the patio a delight. The hotel has recently been acquired by the owners and operators of the hugely successful Hell's Backbone Grill - - that's a gem not to be missed! - - and it's clear that they are bringing the same spirit, enthusiasm, and energy to the Lodge. We will return here at every opportunity.

My husband and I took a little getaway to celebrate our 31st anniversary. How I wish we had been able to stay for more than just one night. The room was so cozy and the bed was amazingly comfy. The property was idyllic and the restaurant was delightful. I was so pleased to experience the professionalism of the staff in this wonderful small town. We will definitely be back. I would love to make it at least a once a year tradition. (Honey, what do you think?)

I'm so happy Boulder Mountain Lodge now has nice new electric tea kettles in each room! Now I can make my Aeropress coffee and my afternoon tea and not have to use the capsule coffee makers that were previously here or try to use the microwave to heat water. Coffee is also now available in the common room in the morning if you don't want to make it. Also the lodge has upgraded pillows and linens in the rooms as well. Definitely some improvements at the lodge. Loved it!

The rooms are very nice. Bed is comfortable. Bathroom is very upscale and towels are very high quality. HOWEVER BE AWARE, the air conditioning is motion sensitive. You will have to get up multiple times in the night to decrease the temperature so as to attempt to keep the air conditioner cooling the room. Otherwise it will think that no one is there. Perhaps there is a way to override this function ALSO, even though there are NO "Do Not Disturb" signs for use on your door knob, the cleaning crew will wake you up in the morning. Be sure to ask for a DO NOT DISTURB sign so that you can sleep in if desired!!!!! The food at the restaurant is delicious: worth the price (even if you have to suffer through a very obsequious, bordering on weird, waiter).

My husband and I stayed one night at Boulder Mountain Lodge--our first trip back in many years. Our room was wonderful. It was super quiet, had a comfortable bed, a little table to get some work done, kitchenette items so we could make coffee in the room as well as a fridge (to store leftovers from dinner). The adirondack chairs outside the room made a relaxing place to read a book or watch birds dip in and out of the wetlands. We also took advantage of the common building's upper balcony overlooking the bird sanctuary and pond. It's an incredible sight in the desert. Every staff member we interacted with was super friendly and helpful. The Lodge also has a little gift shop in the registration building. We had a tasty lunch at Burr Trail Grill and a delicious dinner at Hell's Backbone Grill (which is on the grounds of the the Lodge). HBG is a bit of a splurge, but absolutely worth it. BML was the perfect place to beat the heat from Salt Lake (it was over 100 in SLC but only low 80s in Boulder!) and be spoiled by both the scenery and the accommodations. Wish we'd had time for a longer stay. We won't wait so long to return for our next visit!
