We LOVE Chautauqua! It is such a beautiful and special place. The wonderfully restored guest cottages feel comfortably updated and still retain their historic charm. The staff at the lodging desk are always so helpful and accommodating (many thanks to Kelsey, Robin, Martha, and Andrew over the many times we have stayed there)! There is a special form of peace and quiet at Chautauqua, and the amazing hiking trails are right outside of your cottage along with incredible views of the Flatirons. We enjoy eating delicious meals on the elevated porch at the dining hall, and walking around the grounds, as well as the trails. It is always a place of special and happy experiences and memories!

My stay was very nice, I had a lot of fun exploring the mountains, and doing other fun activities with my family such as zip-lining through the mountains, visiting the famous Dushanbe tea house, and the stay at my hotel was great! There was a gym, pool, free breakfast and a lot of fun things to do making our stay very comfortable. I had the best time with my family.

I, along with roughly 60 of my wedding guests, recently stayed at Chautauqua, and held our rehearsal dinner at the Community House. I HIGHLY recommend you do not stay here or hold events here. It was a disaster for well over a year. Colorado Chautauqua is greedy, disorganized, and will go back on their word MULTIPLE times. You will have SO MANY different main points of contact because no one stays working here for a long time. With every new point of contact you get, you will be told something completely different. To start off, we signed a contract and paid our first deposit in October of 2023. Then, 7 months later, we have a new point of contact who told us "prices have increased and there is nothing we can do about it." Next, we were told a 40 person rehearsal dinner could be held in the Rocky Mountain Climbers Club. Again, we sign a contract and put a deposit down. Then, we get a new point of contact who tells us we can't fit 40 people in that room and we now need to pay for a much more expensive room, despite already singing the contract and paying our deposit. We had a time frame for our wedding guests to reserve their cottages. We were told that Colorado Chautauqua would inform us when availability started to get low during that specified time frame. That was a complete lie. They booked out every single cottage to other parties without even telling us or giving us the chance to reserve more ourselves. No one answers emails. No one will call you back. You have to follow up MULTIPLE TIMES and be ready to call every single day to get any kind of information. Even when you do get a hold of someone, they will all tell you conflicting information. For example, I was told by one person that candles to put on tables are free. I was told by the next person that candles are $150. This is just one example, but I have dozens. I personally stayed in the Mission House with my bridesmaids. The floor was so dirty it stained all of our socks black. The air conditioning barely worked upstairs. It was WAY too hot to sleep in any of the rooms up there. Our refrigerator didn't keep anything cold and we had to have maintenance come. The only redeeming quality about my entire experience was working with Rosy Rojas. She is the only person we ever interacted with who actually seemed to want to help us and not just charge us more money. Outside of her, I would not recommend ever staying or holding an event at Colorado Chautauqua.

We stayed 1 April night in cottage #306 (Morning Glory) & wish we had stayed longer. Keep in mind that each cottage is different. So great to have world class hiking just steps away. Keep in mind that the cottages are very close together — if you are looking for mountain solitude, don’t stay here— that isn’t what Chautauqua is about. We’re also pleasant surprised by the quality of food in the dining hall.

Incredibly clean and comfortable lodging at the base of the flatirons. Walk right out the door to a trailhead. Only a mile from CU campus. We stayed in the Columbine Lodge, filled with nostalgic details and photos. We had dinner at the dining hall and treats from the general store. Everything about the property reflects the love and attention that the Colorado Chautauqua Association invests.

I was here for a writing retreat and we had an amazing time. The decor was elegant and understated, but absolute quality. Lovely beds, lovely linens. Couldn't be happier. The community room, dining hall and general store were all outstanding (and the food was truly excellent). And the grounds and environment, I mean, c'mon. Gorgeous. My small group and I went on to Denver but wish we had stayed even longer at Chautauqua.

Nobody expects to lose their home and entire neighborhood in a fire, but if you do, where do you go? I chose Chautauqua for my houseless, traumatized family, and it was the best decision I have ever made. I cannot thank the staff at Chautauqua enough. Suzy, Martha, Andrew, and the whole team made my family feel welcome and cared for during the worst three months of their lives after the Marshall Fire. You all have been so generous, kind, compassionate, and helpful. Chautauqua was the perfect place to land for my parents and son who had lost their house and all belongings in the wildfire. Chautauqua provided a safe, welcoming, cozy temporary home for them to regroup and try to move forward. I am forever grateful for your excellent, heartfelt hospitality and sincere care. I cannot recommend Chautauqua highly enough for retreats, vacations, and yes, for trauma recovery. Thank you all so very much.

Location, Location, Location! The best place to stay in Boulder. Park your car and walk everywhere or Uber back at night. Walk out your door and immerse yourself in the hiking trails at the base of the Flatirons. The dining hall is excellent for dine in and take out.

I love staying at Chautauqua for its beautifully maintained historic (yet modernized) private cottages that provide immediate access to the gorgeous views of the Flatirons and Boulder and the incredible hiking trails. I love walking around the gorgeous campus as well as the trails, and the staff members at Chautauqua always make me feel welcome and cared for. A special thank you to Andrew, Martha, Susie, and Rosie for making my visits so enjoyable! I can't wait to return this spring!
