Very friendly hosts

It’s places like this that make you appreciate the personal touch that large hotel chains can’t match. Made to feel welcome from the off (even though we arrived early) and felt completely relaxed throughout our stay. Everywhere spotless, lovely room, comfy bed (fab pillows), freshly prepared buffet breakfast each morning, everything you need ..and tastefully decorated. Jane & Ged are the perfect hosts. Jane nearly persuaded my wife to overcome her fear of being on water and go on a cruise! (still WIP I’m afraid Jane 😊). Quiet road, no probs with parking and only a short walk to the beach /centre. Faultless!

What an absolute gem of a guesthouse Situated on a leafy side road, if there is no parking available outside the Amarillo , there will be sufficient vacant spaces in the road for you to park Warm welcome from Jane , on showing us the room we had booked,an attic room with a private bath (not an en-suite) , she adv she had , had a cancellation that day and room 6 was available , an attic room in the eaves with en-suite and air conditioning, a bonus for the days we were there as this was the hottest period of the year. There was also a fridge in the room The room was large , very quirkily decorated , and had 2 velux windows , so if the air conditioning was not being used , there was a nice cool breeze flowing thru. We had this room for 2 nights and were then switched to room 4 for our final night , a large understated elegant room at the front of the guest house , cool and very comfortable. A large and very substantial cold buffet awaited us in the breakfast room, again quirkily and elegantly decorated, love the chandelier guys Jane and husband ged , told us of their favourite Italian restaurant etna , and we tried that on our first night ,very large portions , and we should have foregone the starter , on our 2nd night we tried mandarin fusion , one of the best Chinese restaurants we have been to Both hosts really friendly , and by strange quirk of fate both ged and I had worked for the same large authority for over 20 years but never bumped into each other We would definitely come back here and look forward to doing so

Words can't describe how good it was. ☺️ The rooms are just like in the pictures, no... Even better. 👌 And what a lovely couple as housekeepers. 😍 They care about everything. 😎👍 12/10. Thank you very much for having us as guests. 🙏 Breakfast was a show of its own. Everything was there, no... Even too much to decide. 🤔👌 Really really good. 😎☺️

Jane & Ged were extremely welcoming & genuinely lovely people! They provided us with really useful information on how to get about locally & around Dorset & recommended places to eat & drink. The room was comfortable, spotlessly clean & really well decorated as was the whole guesthouse. There was lots of free parking available on the street which is a bonus. Breakfast was also included. Would highly recommend!
