Hotels near Watu gede, Borobudur

Villa Borobudur was our second accommodation in Indonesia and it was the one we liked best. Since we arrived at the parking where our driver and guide left us because no car is allowed on the narrow and steep road to the entrance of the resort , I realised its beauty : Up the hill surrounded by a deep forest in front of the valley where Borobudur temple lies. The whole resort has an authentic Javanese style : we were in Borobudur suite which we found really charming : large, with a carved Javanese ceiling over the bed and a great attention to details.The bathroom was charming as well. The suite is on top of the hill completely surrounded by the lush jungle . The only sound was the one of the many birds . From our windows we could see the Borobudur temple : amazing! We loved the swimming pool facing the valley where the temple is. We were welcomed by a kind and lovely staff and were offered a very tasting ginger beer ! The sitting area and the bar were two “floors” down our suite and also from there the view was amazing. We dined at the restaurant in an open area always with the same lovely view of the valley and we tasted delicious Javanese food . If you are to visit the Borobudur site, this is one of the best places to stay as it's literally 100m away from the main gate (Regular visit). If you are planning on the Sunrise or Sunset tour, they provide free transportation to the gate (This gate is located around 1.5Kms away from the guest house). Staff was simply amazing. I have to especially mention Himatul who was really helpful in providing vital information related to the site/tour in general. Additionally, she has accompanied us during the visit which kept our minds at ease. As per the room, it had, 1 King size bed, 1 single bed which was more than enough for us. The room had air conditioning and an attached bathroom. They have provided a decent free breakfast with a satisfactory portion of Nasi Goreng with Guava juice(I loved it!) + they have free wifi. + rooms are air conditioned. + they have attached bathrooms + there's a common area to have your food - They don't have their own restaurant, but there are many places to buy local food including street food. + There's a supermarket/mart nearby. + Staff was super friendly and helpful. + Very close to the Borobudur site (100m to the main gate). + Free transportation for Sunset/Sunrise tours.

I stayed at Sinom Borobudur for seven nights. The hotel is centrally located, clean, and comfortable. Breakfast is good. Staff are incredibly kind, helpful, and nice. They can organize tours of local attractions, including sunsets/sunrises over Borobudur.

Less than 10 minutes walk to Borobudur ruins. This area is along a big street, so it's a convenient location to take a walk to nearby restaurants at night. The back side is a rice field, so the local feeling is perfect. The pool view rooms lined up in the middle of the pool are full of Asian chic and resort feeling. Each building is an isolated style, and it is luxuriously made for the price. The pool is small but deep and well-maintained, so it feels great to swim after the ruins. For breakfast, you can choose Indonesian style or Western style. There is a kettle in the room but no refrigerator.

About two weeks ago, i participated in Borobudur Marathon which the main area for the event is in the Borobudur Temple itself. What i was thinking when i joined this event, i would like to have somewhere to stay close to the main area for this event since the Marathon itself would take a lot of my energy. So i searched the internet and VOILA! Rumah Boedi is only about 3Km from Borobudur Temple! Without any hesitation, i booked the property for 2 nights. What i can say about this property is, all photos you got while searching in the internet can't describe the experience you will get when staying in this property. This property has a Modern Javanese architecture, which almost all building and equipment are made of woods, many statues and temple replicas are placed to make the ambience positively different, we can hear water sounds from the fountain while sitting in the open space, and above all of that, what i can conclude about the property is i feel like staying in a place where you feel like staying in nature, full of serenity, no city noises, and also homey and comfortable in the same time. This is a solitude place. Foods are great, their beverages are the best in Magelang, try their Lemongrass drink! They said all are homemade. Don't worry about rooms, linens and bed are clean, as well as the furniture and the bathroom. Wifi perfectly available everywhere. I will definitely will go back to this place if i have another chance to visit Magelang. In additional, i met the owner of this property and he was really pay attention to every aspect of hospitality. I felt like not staying in a hotel but in our own home. What i can tell you that this place is very recommended if you have a plan to Borobudur Temple or Magelang.

Stayed at 8/10. It's far from the Borobudur Temple and it takes a long walk (about 260 yen for grab), so the location is 3 points, but the hotel itself is service, cleanliness, food (cheap), Both the facilities (you can also see YouTube in ＴＶ) were highly evaluated. I think it is a little high price range around Borobudur, but it is recommended if you want cleanliness. Also, he talks slowly with a smile until he can understand English at check-in, and the evaluation of the staff is 5.

I visited Mtilan on a vacation. And I chose the front one inn hotel to stay because of its strategic location if you want to go to jojja, mahjong or Borobudur. The room was very clean, the staff was very friendly, the breakfast was delicious. Although there's no restaurant, but if there's a lot of selling around the hotel at night, I'm not confused about the comedy.

Breakfast service should be adjusted to the number of guests. During the holiday season, you should increase the number of chefs and the number of meals.

This is not a brand new resort, but it continuous to expand. They now offer vila with private pool as well as new executive room. I stayed at the executive room with private porch situated in front of the main restaurant. The area of the resort itself is a downhill slope facing the Kulon Progo river. You can enjoy some activities next to the river such as badminton, chess and also rafting along the river. With a large area of the resort, in my opinion, they need to increase the number of staff especially in regard to cleaning and house keeping so that the cleanliness will be maintained better and any room services will be quicker. The bed is comfortable and towel is fresh. They offer a basket of local fruits which is also a nice touch. It is worth to note that since this location is in a downhill slope, the pathway is a little bit steep, however a shuttle bus is always ready to pick you up, and transports you up and down within resort.

Very comfortable stay. Affordable prices but looks like a 3 star or 4 star hotel. Strategic location also for travelers or tourists who want to explore Magelang, the facilities are quite complete, the AC is also cold and comfortable. Top of the line. Thank you Ahava Hotel-
