We visited during unexpected very warm weather and with no air conditioning in the hotel our room was warm. We changed rooms to one on the backside of the building so we could open the windows but it was still difficult to get air ventilation. The evening air did eventually cool down but it took hours. Everything else was fine.

Susan and I embarked on a driving tour of southern Iceland during March of this year and our tour company book this hotel for us. It has a new name The Vestureland Hotel and it’s under new management. The new Manager happens to be a award winning chef and he and his wife made sure we ate great food while there, the whole staff was extremely accommodating and our room was probably the best we had on our whole trip. I would definitely recommend if your in this area and need to stay this would be my go to hotel. I think their going to do well in the future despite whatever this place was like in the past. Bravo Vesterland! Jud Martindale

We stayed in the most expensive suite and it was quite shabby. Curtains falling off rails, sofa stained, no internet and hadn't been in a long time, we had two large TVs that didn't work, the phone in the room did not work and it was not possible to call the reception. There is nothing warm or cozy about this suite and I was glad to go home

The reservation was canceled without any reasonable explanation, vacation was ruined. We asked for elaboration, but it did not make any sense. My personal advice is to avoid this hotel in the future.

English: the hotel has a massive security problem. I received fake messages via official *********** conversations from the hotel in order to “secure my booking that might get cancelled”. After checking with *********** first, I did not enter my credit card details. The hotel did not give any information about the incident or which data was accessed even though I contacted them two times. Upon arrival, no one was aware of the situation. In addition, the wifi was not working due to “some problems”. TV was also not working, it did not seem to have a connection. The young girl who tried to clean the breakfast room was nice, so the mess was not her fault. We did witness two men who entered the kitchen after having breakfast, very unhygienic. Avoid this hotel, we would recommend Hotel Husafell in the region instead (price per night was about the same).

We occupied a spacious top-floor room with a balcony and a delightful view. The young lady at the front desk, hailing from Poland, was truly hospitable; however, this was the extent of our positive experience. The hotel building seemed to have some underlying issues, evidenced by constant, mysterious ticking noises that persistently disrupted our sleep during the night. The dining hall appeared to be partially functional, with three different front desks, but only one was operational. During breakfast, I spotted a grand and impressive Espresso machine and inquired about a cappuccino. To my disappointment, I was informed that the Espresso machine was exclusively for staff use. Instead, I was directed to a cheap, one-click automated coffee maker with a "cappuccino" option. Such behavior from the hotel management is not only discourteous but also a glaring example of poor customer service. I earnestly urge prospective guests reading this review to explore alternative accommodation options when planning a stay in Borgarnes.

Had a great time in Iceland last week except for this place. It was Motel 6 quality at Ritz Carlton prices. There was no tissue paper, just an empty box on the bathroom counter. The toilet paper was down to its last 8 squares, draped over the holder without even a cardboard tube. The exhaust fan in the bathroom was non functional leading to extreme condensation throughout the room. The light on the bedside night stand didn't work. The WI-FI didn't work severely compromising our ability to research and plan sightseeing. Because the WI-FI was out, the TV didn't work. We stayed in a "family room" when we checked in and it came with four bath towels. The next day, housekeeping only saw fit to give us two towels which I didn't discover until stepping out of the shower at 6 AM and had to use a hand towel to try and dry off. The elevator didn't work forcing my disabled wife to use the stairs. For all this high end stuff? $550 a night. You read that right, $550 a night. Here's the best part. The day after we got home, they sent me an e-mail asking me how my stay was at their property. I told them everything I just told you. It's been 5 days and no response. Not even an acknowledgment that they got my letter. Ghosted. Run, don't walk, run from this place.
