This is a ‘Buyer Beware’ commentary. My friend arranged for three us to have a class painting pictures at a garden property in Volcancito. The class is $25 plus $10 for materials which all must be paid in advance. My friend notified me that our November class had been cancelled, by the manager, due to heavy rain. Our rescheduled class was to be yesterday. I drove with one friend and the other friend was to meet us at Casita Vista Verde in her car. We all had a locator pin and followed it up Volcancito Road where we have driven before. Signal strength is not good the higher up you go and you can lose the signal altogether. As we continued uphill, the locator pins kept changing and saying the destination was 15 minutes and 15 kilometers away. We ended up at Finca Don Pepe before we turned around because we knew it could not have been that far away. We tried to call CVV and each other. Intermittent signals got us back to familiar surroundings but our friend driving alone was frustrated and gave up because she couldn’t find CVV. Understand, we started at 920AM to get to a 10AM appointment and this town is not very big with only one main road. At 1015AM, we were all (both cars) still trying to find this place. When my carmate finally got through to the business, we asked if there was a sign. Please see attached. Please note that this sign says nothing about Casita Vista Verde. If the locator pin the business gave us doesn’t take us to their door how would we know to turn at this sign? With the class only being an hour and a half and already losing almost a half hour of it, and also with losing one of the three participants, it was an ill fated endeavor. We asked for a January reschedule. They said No. We asked for a full refund. They said No. The business says it’s not their problem we couldn’t find it. But if the business gives you a faulty locator pin and have no signage for the business, is it really not their problem? That justifies keeping our money? So…Buyer Beware. They will take your money but if something goes wrong, you’ll have no recourse. So whatever tranquil and creative feelings you hoped to have for this day or your vacation, the management of Casita Vista Verde will destroy it.
