Service was nice. Everything was easy and fast from check in to check out. We even extended for another night. Though wala masyado options sa food. So far masasarap naman yung mga napili ko. I loved the pool temp, matagal kami nagbabad, may mga patay na langaw lang minsan. Overall it was a nice experience.

It's a brand new hotel. As one of the first guests, it's the first time I have an entire hotel to myself. The room is super large, surprisingly clean, and the Nanyang-style villašŸ  is surrounded by banana trees, coconut trees🌓, frangipani🌸, and green lawns. No 🦟, only the faint fragrance of plumeria. šŸš•About distance In the northwest corner of Bohol, an independent island šŸļøPangangan Island. It takes 2 hours to drive from Panglao. However, dear friends, the hotel is right opposite Cabilao🤿, the famous diving spot in Bohol! Crab boat is a 10-minute sea ride! Friends who like diving can definitely stay at H resort and sail to Cabilao🤿. The experience will be much better! šŸµļøAbout Activity What are you doing living so far away? In fact, it only takes 1 hour to drive to the Chocolate Hills from H Resort, which is about the same as the baby living in Panglao, so the inland tour of the Chocolate Hills ā›°ļø Tarsier 🐵 Lobo River Fireflies 🪲 can be arranged. Cambuhat Oyster Farm🦪 is about a 30-minute drive from the hotel. It is estimated that other hotels are far away, only H is relatively close. The hotel's submarine and shooting facilities are currently not open for business, but they will probably be arranged soon! šŸ›What can you do in the hotel? Invincible sea view swimming poolšŸŠ, you can see us in the swimming pool outside the glass wooden wall, perfect for checking in and taking pictures! Arrange a sunset seaside spa! At the seaside pavilion, blowing the sea breeze, listening to the waves🌊, watchingšŸŒ…, and doing SPAšŸ’†, it's so comfortable! The massage after diving šŸ’†ā™€ļø really made me feel tired. šŸ“About the restaurant BreakfastšŸˆ¶ļøAmerican, British and Filipino options. Very nice and secluded place. If you want a quiet and get away from city vibes, this place is highly recommended. Food is soso. Staff is super kind. Massages are nice, good price. View is amazing! Many swimming pools. Beach right infront. There is also a cave, if you like adventure and not scared of deep dark water, the guide will escort you down. Overall, I had one of the most amazing time there. My friend prefers city modern hotels so she liked it less than me. But, I absolutely enjoyed the remote feeling, felt like we had the whole place to ourselves, other people were there but it really wasn't busy. The staff is very accomodating and I really appreciated their kindness. I will miss Mithi. Will visit again if I go to Bohol again. Highly recommend for couples and families who want quiet get away. Because it is away from city, if you want food you have to get it from their restaurant, which is so so. Also, I loved that they had communal shower and bathroom near the pools which was convenient. You can also get beach towels from there too (as much as you would like)! And the buggie takes you everywhere for free anytime. The buggie comes to your door super fast! I haven't tried it, but you can also do Kayak and snorkeling there too. Cup noodles are recommended, you will want to pack as much as you can. I will miss Mithi! Had such a good time there! Also, if you wanna do laps in the swimming pool, there is a bigger pool by the spa.

The resort is very good overall. However there's a few niggles. Check in took way too long. 2 people serving? When you have a long queue in the heat of the lobby this isn't a great first impression. The lobby on arrival was so busy. When I've checked into other hotels I've usually been impressed with the smoothness of check in. This wasn't a pleasant experience or environment especially if you're traveling with children. We couldn't get a massage. We wanted to confirm the time the next day and they wouldn't give us this option.? The lift? One lift in the main area? For a resort this big and expensive they should have more lifts The stairs at the pool are stony. This will really hurt your feet when you're not expecting it The breakfast is good for Filipinos however for Westerners like myself there should be more choice. Not just bread and egg. The beach is small. You get hassled by people trying to sell you stuff. Protect your belongings. Doesn't feel safe, look out for algae in the water. Not pleasant to swim through. The resort restaurants are very expensive. The lobby isn't air conditioned? Why not make it a pleasure to be in the lobby and serve coffee to guests? Not everyone wants ice tea. We were told to pay 6000php on arrival which luckily we had but we didn't know about this deposit for incidentals ahead of time. The positives are. They gave us umbrellas when we walked outside for the shade. The shower in our room was excellent. The warm water in the pool. And swimming till late is lovely. The staff are very good and attentive and professional. They served us with care and attention and nothing was too much trouble. I got looked after by the nurse at 10pm.

Far from the airport, travelers who like to discover and go to remote places should not miss it, rent a car to go (because it often takes 2 hours to repair roads), and reserve a dive test card at the hotel, and go to Anda Beach (see no more than 20 people) to explore Village market, eat a raw Calamay on the road on the return trip.

My stay at the hotel was great. The staff were so nice and friendly, and while there was only one restaurant on site, there was a strip mall next door with multiple dining options and several souvenir shops. There were some empty storefronts, but these appear to be the lingering effects of the long pandemic shutdown. The grounds and beachfront were pretty and well-maintained, and there is a looong beachfront to walk. The nearby town and Alona Beach were accessible, but aside from doing a city tour and a countryside tour, the latter of which included visiting the Chocolate Hills and the Tarsier Sanctuary, my friends and I felt no need to leave the resort for the rest of our stay. I know the rating should just be on our stay, but the reason I rated Modala less than excellent was because my pre-trip preparations were less than ideal. We needed information on airport transfers and tours in advance of our stay, and communications were an ordeal. So much follow-up was needed, with multiple communications repeating the same questions trying to get responses, and I used phone calls, e-mails, and texts. Phone calls were best, if only you could get someone to answer the phone, as e-mails and texts were mostly ignored. Responses tended to be incomplete, but at least on a phone call you can keep ā€clarifyingā€ your question. In the end, some questions were left till we arrived at the resort, and could speak to them face to face.

We stayed at Henann Tawala Hotel for a week upon arriving in Bohol, and it was a fantastic experience. The hotel is spotlessly clean, living up to its 4-star rating. Upon arrival, the staff were very attentive—our bags were handled, and we were offered breakfast while our early check-in was expedited. One thing to be aware of is the 3,000 pesos per night damage deposit. If paid by credit card, any charges, such as room service or drinks at the swim-up bar, are deducted from it, with the balance refunded after checkout. The breakfast area is beautifully presented, with friendly staff who greet you warmly. After giving your room number and surname, you’re escorted to a table. However, we noticed some inconsistency in service—on some days we were offered coffee or tea, while on others we weren’t. There were also times when water wasn’t provided, so we ended up with double servings after fetching it ourselves. Consistency in service would enhance the experience, but the self-service station for coffee, water, and juices was convenient. Breakfast options were excellent, with plenty of variety to suit all preferences. Everything was well-prepared and delicious. One small issue was being asked to leave a yogurt behind when I tried to take it out of the breakfast area. I understand the rule to prevent excessive takeaway, but I felt a little flexibility could be applied for small items. The rooms at Henann Tawala are impressive—spacious with great bathrooms and lovely balconies. Among the best we’ve stayed in, they’re comparable to high-end hotels like Radisson Blu in Cebu or Seda Ayala Central Block. The reception staff were incredibly helpful. They arranged a reasonably priced van for our trip to Tagbilaran, and the driver was punctual, providing a comfortable ride. He even dropped us off at the right spot for catching a van to Anda at the Dao Bus Terminal. One nice perk of staying here is the short walk to Henann's beachfront property, where you can use the sun loungers shaded by palm trees and enjoy drinks served by the staff. However, you can’t use the pool there, and you need to pick up towels from Henann Tawala before heading to the beach. The beach is beautiful, but there are quite a few hawkers selling tours, which can be a bit of a nuisance. We found better deals on Facebook. The sea is warm, though there’s a fair amount of seaweed. I’d recommend snorkeling to watch your step, as there are starfish and possibly sea urchins. We only swam once. If you buy mangosteen from beach vendors (150-200 pesos), check for ants, as one of our bags was full of them! Just outside the hotel’s main gates, there’s an ATM and a laundry shop that charges around 400 pesos for 5 kg, returning clothes washed, dried, and folded by 5 pm. It’s much cheaper than the hotel’s laundry service. We also tried the Kajun Restaurant nearby, which offers excellent chicken sandwiches, fries, and milkshakes in an American diner style. On the beachfront, our favorite restaurant was the Oasis Resort’s upstairs bar and restaurant, which has a cooling breeze and a great view of the beach. Every dish we tried was fantastic, and we highly recommend it. While our stay at Henann Tawala was wonderful, Panglao itself felt quite touristy. There were many Korean tourists, and a lot of locals trying to sell tours and services, which sometimes felt overwhelming. Prices were higher than we expected, especially for things like tricycles, which cost 150 pesos per person compared to the 12 pesos we paid in the provinces. Restaurant prices were also inflated, and even basic supplies came at a premium. If you prefer a quieter, more authentic experience, I’d recommend visiting somewhere like Anda. It has a more laid-back, provincial vibe, with friendlier locals and a slower pace of life, making it a peaceful alternative to the busy, touristy atmosphere of Panglao.

Outstanding
AAh youngIf you’re looking for a peaceful escape, this place is truly a hidden paradise. The lush green lawns and vibrant flowers set the perfect tone, while the endless ocean view from every corner offers a sense of calm and tranquility. Each chair around the property gives you a unique perspective whether it’s the towering clouds, Cebu Island in the distance, or the magical sunset painting the sky with warm, rainbow-like hues. When night falls, the forest comes alive with fireflies, casting tiny glowing lights that feel like nature’s own fairytale. It’s a sight I’ll never forget. The food here is gut! You can enjoy both Filipino and German home-cooked dishes, and if you’re here, don’t miss the mashed potatoes and the deep-fried pork stuffed with cheese,,it’s absolutely delicious! What really made this place unforgettable was Joachim, the host. With years of diving experience (more than my age), he helped me overcome my fear of the underwater world. As a beginner, I was nervous, but he is calm and professional guidance made me feel safe and allowed me to experience a whole new world beneath the surface. You can even meet turtles while diving! With various dive spots surrounding the island, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. The staff, including Jessel and Luci, were incredibly friendly and welcoming! This little village became a sanctuary where I could truly unwind and connect with nature. You won’t need music here. The harmony of the wind, waves, and birds is all you need. It’s pure, calming bliss. ļ¼ž The Wi-Fi is good as well, and there are universal power outlets for your convenience ļ¼ž You can easily walk to a nearby lighthouse, discover another quiet white beach, or even play or watching basketball or beach volleyball at the village court ļ¼ž There’s no 7-11(convenience stores) on Cabilao Island, so I recommend bringing the necessary things in advance

Amazing
SSays_KatyThat's the end of our stay at this hotel in the executive suite. What we liked: Hotel location; Gorgeous landscapes from the room window; Pool area; Spacious swimming pool; Spacious room; The pool is properly planned; Very cute dogs and cats. They cheered us up.; The staff is very polite and tries to help with everything.; Relaxing massage; There was oatmeal on the breakfast menu, which is rare in the Philippines.; Your requests are being listened to. What didn't you like: A small selection of paid breakfast. There is no buffet and you need to choose from the menu. But you can only choose 1 dish and drink for each one. In other words, don't expect to try even a couple of dishes for prepaid money. Here you can choose only 1 dish for breakfast. The rest is paid. It became clear only on the 3rd day of the stay, as they could not understand how the breakfast system worked. We were charged 390 Philippine pesos for SPAM (or rather, three slices of local ham). It's expensive for this kind and quantity of food. •On the last day, the cost of paying for a fruit plate increased. It was 350 pesos, it became 400. •When ordering tom yam, we asked for additional shrimp (+250 pesos). We were served soup with 7 shrimp halves. We still haven't figured out how many shrimps there would have been without the extra ones we paid for. šŸ™ˆWe thought they forgot to add additional ones. Then we saw the bill and additional shrimps were deposited. •Few seafood dishes. Considering that you are 50 meters from the sea. There are also few products with vegetables. We suffered because of this. There was no light food. •The leaves in each salad were stale. •Service fees were from everything. We understand when the service fee is for food, but we still don't understand why the fee was for a massage. That is, the fee for the massage + the service FEE for the massage. •There were also fees for filming shark swimming on our phone. We also did not understand why the fee, if the tour itself cost 7,500 pesos + 300 pesos was a service fee (again, we do not understand why it is not included in the total cost of the tour) + 260 pesos for shooting on the phone; I was disappointed that when booking an excursion to swim with sharks for 7,500 pesos, fishing was included, but no one offered it to us. They just took us, we swam and brought it back. They say the tour took 5 hours, but it was two and a half hours. •Hand soap has not been refilled in two days; • The automatic circulation of water in the pool was rarely turned on, so we swam with flies for two days... trying to catch them from there; •The performers were an hour late for the first tour, and 30 minutes late for the second. We don't understand why our time wasn't respected. • One shower wasn't working. There was no water coming out of it; • Often they didn't bring half of the dish. That is, if you ordered a meat plate with grapes, cheese and crackers, be prepared that I may not bring you crackers, but there will be 3 pieces of cheese. That's for 590 pesos. We ordered this plate twice, and two times we didn't get any crackers. The second time we asked and they informed us. Also, when ordering mashed potatoes with chicken, they brought us chicken without mashed potatoes. We asked and were informed. Everything was already cold. They didn't add a banana to the banana pancakes. Unfortunately, curtains are not blackout, for those who cannot sleep without them, bring a sleep mask. I write absolutely all the little things, as I am very careful about the service. I really liked this hotel. In any case, I recommend it wholeheartedly. After all, they communicate politely with you here, there are gorgeous views from a spacious room, and there is a large swimming pool. But I have to write down the little things so that the management can improve the quality of service so that staying at this hotel leaves only positive emotions for absolutely everyone! After all, the hotel is really beautiful!

ŠŠŠ°Ń‚Š°Š»ŃŒŃ Š”Ń€Š¾Š½ŃŠµŠ²Š°Our stay at E L Westensee Resort exceeded all our expectations! This place is ideal for those who are looking for a combination of coziness, comfort and excellent service. Our villa was simply magnificent: spacious, stylish and very cozy. Snow-white bed linen and impeccable cleanliness created a feeling of real luxury. The hotel staff are real professionals! Very responsive, sincere and always ready to help. When we decided to rent a bike, it was delivered right to the hotel - new, powerful, for only 500 pesos per day. It was incredibly convenient for trips to Alon Beach (only 7 km) and to local attractions. I would like to separately note the breakfasts. The food was delicious, fresh and prepared with love. A real pleasure to start the day with such dishes! We were pleased with the proximity to the street with cafes and restaurants - literally a few minutes walk. This allowed us to try many local dishes and not depend on transport. Special thanks for organizing an early breakfast before our departure - everything was ready at 5:30, and the transfer to the airport was waiting for us on time. E L Westensee Resort is a place where you want to come back! The warm atmosphere, perfect cleanliness and caring approach to each guest made our vacation simply unforgettable!

Great
GGuest UserThe place is fantastic, located right beside Alona Beach with a small road leading directly to the beach. The hotel's food is very nice, and the two swimming pools are great for families. The studio room can accommodate a family of four, and there are many complimentary activities such as kayaking, paddling, and archery. Highly recommended for families. However, there is no lift to the third level, which is not friendly for the elderly.

GGuest UserThe hotel staff are friendly & helpful & polite. Met the hotel owner at their restaurant a generous & pleasant German guy. The swimming pool is clean & handy for massage after a swim at a reasonable price. The only disliked comment..I wish their bed cushion was softer just too hard for our liking.

MMr.BrianI recently had the pleasure of staying at a hotel that truly impressed me. From the moment I stepped in, it was clear how well-maintained and clean the entire place was, creating such a welcoming atmosphere. The room was cozy and modern, and honestly, the rate I paid felt like a steal—it was comparable to what you'd expect at a luxury seaside hotel. The level of quality and comfort was far beyond what you'd expect for the price. What really made my stay special was the owner and the staff—they were incredibly polite and made everything so easy. Every interaction was smooth, and they were always ready to assist with a smile. It's rare to find such great value combined with excellent service, and this hotel definitely exceeded my expectations. I’d absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a top-notch experience without breaking the bank.

VVanessa We were so happy with our 4 nights at Bohol Shores. We loved the pool. It was nice and spacious for my girls to swim around in. The pool villa was also very nice and we loved the shallow access to the pool. The shower pressure and temperature wasn’t great at first but when we requested repair, they efficiently replaced the nozzle to make a larger spout and also made the temperature much hotter. So we were very impressed with their proactive approach to make us happy. All the staff are so kind and friendly and accommodating and helped us book drivers etc. It’s a short walk to the ocean but it’s rocky not very beach like but had amazing sea life like hermit crabs and interesting shells which we didn’t see as much at the beaches. Then the hotel arranged a 10 min Tuk Tuk where we went to Dumaluan beach and enjoyed a family beach day. We entered Dumaluan through the Dumaluan beach resort (100 pesos per person). In my opinion Dumaluan beach is much better than Alona beach. More space to swim and less crowded. The location is also walking distance to the Bohol Bee Farm which we enjoyed eating lunch at. All in all, we are very happy with this resort and would recommend it!

GGuest UserOur family trip was amazing .. very accomodating and friendly staff. Clean and tidy rooms. But 1 thing more, they should have intercom phones in the room so if the guest has any concerns or requests no need to go outside and go to the reception.
