Reading about the hotel ahead of time I had some expectations, and the staff of the Hilton Bogota exceeded that! I emailed the hotel ahead of arrival to ask about transportation from the airport. I'd read that despite the fact that Uber is often used it is not actually legal so sometimes that causes problems from the airport specifically since policemen may be watching closely, and regular taxis are not always a safe option. The hotel staff responded almost immediately and arranged a car service which was extremely professional (met with a sign at arrival and driven directly with luggage) for only $21 US billed to our hotel room. Amazing service, which we also used back to the airport. Can't say enough about that. It's not a limo or anything, but very professional drivers. Even before arrival I'd been upgraded the the Executive Level by the hotel. because of HHonors status. The rooms are not that big but comfortable, the bedding and pillows are pretty awesome. Introduced ourselves to the concierge right away (Jackson) and he immediately went into guest-service mode on overdrive and was extremely helpful in many ways!! I cannot say enough about his extremely professional and polite attitude and he went above and beyond several times during our stay. He helped us find a room that was perfect, showed us around the hotel and made numerous recommendations for restaurants and such which were spot-on. He alone is an extremely valuable asset to the hotel! At the same time, it seemed that every member of the staff was interested in ensuring that our stay was positive - the doormen/security staff, the front desk staff, the gym staff, and particularly the Executive Lounge staff! On that subject, the Exec Lounge staff were some of the best we've ever encountered in this type of environment - they had just the right level of friendliness and service and went out of their way to make us comfortable and well-served, and the food/drink offerings are all good. I think they are also a particularly-important asset that deserves a lot of credit. We always felt welcomed. I would rate the hotel overall as a 3.5 star to 4-star international property, as it's not particularly "fancy" or impressive as a structure but the staff make it a 5-star property with their attitude. Overall I think it's a great business hotel and the location within the city makes it somewhere I'll likely go back to next time I'm in town for any reason - work or pleasure. We checked out the JW Marriott, which sits a block away and it's a slightly nicer/impressive building but the Hilton Bogota is sufficiently great in many ways that I'd opt to make it my go-to in Bogota. There's plenty of security, which is important. The neighborhood is very quiet, as it's in the financial district, yet it is almost perfectly located with tons of fantastic restaurants within walking distance - some of the very best in the city! And it's very easy to get around to anywhere you'd want
