The Lodge at Bodega Bay

The accommodation boasts luxurious amenities, beautiful surroundings near Sonoma Beach, comfortable rooms with great amenities, exceptional staff service, and consistent cleanliness. No duplicate content.

We got one of the highest price rooms on the second floor closest to the bay. This made the deck extra special in the morning and sunset. The room was huge with a fire place. The bathroom had both a shower and LARGE soaking tub. Everything was clean and staff was fantastic. If your are looking to get away from it all this is a great place. A couple of possible negatives depending on what your are looking for. This lodge is "remote" that is 35+ minutes from any large town. So if you need anything like a Target which we did on the trip. It is a drive. Also the food offering at the restaurant and lounge is "up scale". Some with like that other might not. Drakes the on site restaurant is reservations only with no walk-ins. So if you don't know that and you arrive late in the day as we did you are out of luck. The Fireside Lounge does have Happy Hour and the wine selection is excellent but for a Lounge/Pub/Bar the food offer is very limited. We each had the Hamburger which was great but we wished the had other handhelds. You can sit out side with a glass of wine which is nice. There are a number of seafood restaurants close by and we found the Pelican Plaza Deli made us some fantastic sandwiches for dinner after a long day of wine & cheese tasting. All in all this is nice place to stay and would recommend if you check out their online menus and make dining reservations ahead of your trip.

Friendly staff. Great views. Comfortable and spacious rooms. However we did have to wait for the room to be ready well after check in time and the bathroom faucet was leaking all over. For the price these are items that need to be addressed.
