Barrbra Bnb over the Sea

Fabulous place, wish I was back in one of the hammocks now. The staff was so friendly and helpful, the place is unique and beautiful. The breakfasts are great-you get a choice of several things you can order and they are HUGE! I'm a member of the clean plate club and I couldn't finish it all. The area around is very quiet at night. The atmosphere is so serene and relaxing. Marco is a joy to speak with. It is easy to walk into town or grab a taxi where there are many good restaurants and cute shops. They have an honors bar so you can grab a cold beer any time and a guest kitchen with a fridge, stove, and oven. Great for reheating leftovers for dinner. Really glad we stayed here.

Peaceful location with an amazing view. Just a 15 minute walk or 5 minute bike ride to town. Warm and friendly hosts eager to assist and very accommodating. Our daily breakfast was absolutely wonderful. The accommodations were quaint and cozy. Great value, I highly recommend.

Before writing this review I figured I'd go back and read what others had to say and I must be totally honest, the handful that gave bad reviews made me laugh. I had a smile permanently on my face reading the reasons for giving a bad review. With that said, our experience was amazing, we have stayed with Marco twice and on returning the second time, we were greeted like old friends. Some boca's background; Boca's has a lot of work going on in the town at the moment so there's a bunch of roadworks. Boca's is also an island so it doesn't have amenities that folk have grown accustomed to in a larger city. Litter is a problem as it is in Bali, ha long bay, Zanzibar and most other tourist heavy islands. If you expect anything else you'd be wrong. Taxis are available but generally, there's a bit of a wait. Once again, you're not in the city so relax and wait. It's not dodgy, or sketchy. Barrbra however is by far one of the best B&B's I've ever been to. The breakfast was amazing coupled with breathtaking views of the bay from the deck. This is a "home away from home" Our room was incredible and super comfortable. Aircon, private bathroom , shower and a view of the bay. Small convenience stores are available to buy fruit, veg, bread etc and there are kitchen facilities to cook meals. All in all, I'd book time at Barrbra again without thinking twice. Remember, be humble, friendly, communicate and leave entitlement at home. You're on an island, not the city. Grab a hammock, beer and enjoy the view.
