Reception a bit strict. I booked 2 rooms. Unforeseen event, i excess 1 child, she really chased us. Calling room time tontime asking how many are inside. This is despite wifi was down all day and only fixed 10:30PM. Should be give and take...

We booked 4 nights at Balar Resort and spa, we enjoyed it so much, that we extended our stay for another 3 nights!
Spotlessly clean hotel, excellent location for visiting the splendid island of Marinduque, the staff are all extremely kind and helpful for every need, special thanks to the very kind and professional Jonesyn who also provided us with a very precious umbrella on rainy days! 😃
Always of the same owners, right next door there is a small shop equipped with everything, and in front of the Hotel the 10 Y. O. Cafe, where you can enjoy excellent meals!

Marinduque is climbing the charts of the best places Ive visited so far this year.. People are very well mannered.. Food is Great! There are a lot of places to vist and a lot of things to do. Balar on the other hand is the worst ive ever been. They have the worst policies in place for a generic hotel, blower wasn’t working - we asked for it to be repaired and staff said they already called the technician to fix - they didnt fix it. No one’s available to clean the room after 5pm. though on the other note.. the employees are great. If you are looking not to spoil your visit in Marinduque might as well look for another hotel.

The place was nice charming staff welcoming us very warm, bedroom was clean the bed and the pillows was very comfortable to sleep I recommend this place to everyone nice breakfast very yummy managers at the front desk looking after the guests needs 💕 lovely food.

Great place to stay
Great stay with the cafe and restaurant in the vicinity didn’t hade the chance to see the beach because we used it as a base to relax before heading to the main destination. The hotel crew and staff was superb and did an excellent job.
The personal at the restaurant where we have dinner needs more training in hospitality and service but it’s a minor thing maybe just 1-2 personal out of the 10 that we interacted with.

Great hotel to relax
I highly recommend this place especially if you are looking for American standard hotel. The room can be compared to Marriott but better with a nice view and balcony. It’s very comfortable, clean and smells great. Wi fi is a little bit slow but it’s normal in this island. I highly praise the staff. They are friendly, approachable and listen to our needs. Btw, they do not have an elevator. Something to consider if you have someone that needs elevator. However, the staff are very helpful to assist you with your luggage. The place is very quiet. There’s a restaurant next to the hotel selling Filipino, Japanese, Korean etc food and a convenience store that sells American and korean drinks and snacks. I highly recommend this place and for sure I will book again in my next visit.
