Being a Southern Sun frequent guest I had high expectations of the Bloemfontein Southern Sun Hotel. At the reception I was met with friendly staff who were always willing to help, in line with the Southern Sun values, however, to my dismay there were no elevators in the hotel and I had to cart my suitcase from the reception throughout the hotel to the third floor climbing stairs. When I reached my room I noticed that the room was not revamped and was a bit outdated. I noticed that the shower was not cleaned properly and that there were bits of hair on the shower wall from the person who had stayed in the room before me. Overall the hygiene element did not meet my expectations and I was a bit taken aback by this as I know Southern Sun usually has a good track record with hygiene. The card sensor to and from the mall ,which was attached to the hotel, was faulty and as a female I did not appreciate that as I had gotten stuck in the mall late at night ,after going for dinner, due to the card sensor not reading my hotel card, this induces a safety risk. The breakfast in the morning was average and I was mostly indifferent to. Overall I suggest that this hotel plans a well needed revamp in the near future in order to uphold the Southern Sun brand name.

This hotel, compared to the other Southern Sun hotels we have stayed at recently , is definitely not at the same high expected level. Rooms are quite outdated and are not kept extremely clean. Staff are available and visible, but they are not very friendly or keen to assist guests. The pool and garden area is beautiful and peaceful, but you wait a long time to get a waiter to assist with drinks and snacks. The hotel has direct access to the Mimosa Mall, which is a great benefit and super convenient.

The staff, facilities and food was of an extremely high class. I would recommend this hotel to any one with a family and ask for conjoining rooms. The pool was beautiful and well maintained. The cappuccinos were served to order and we were also encouraged to take coffee away in the convenient take away cups.

I had a great stay at Southern Sun Bloemfontein! From arrival to departure the staff were friendly & efficient. The room & bathroom were spacious & spotlessly clean. The room service was efficient and food delicious. A lovely stay. Thank you!

It is decent enough for business. The Wifi was not working . What a pity. Next to a mall. The location is good . Not far from the airport . Furniture is dated. The room was clean. Had a problem with a light not working and it was attended to . Staff were friendly. Breakfast reasonably good.

As the logistics manager for an international sports team, I've been delighted with my 4th stay at Southern Sun Bloemfontein and am looking forward to a further 3 week visit with our 25-strong team in 2024. The team is comfortable, happy and well rested here and the hotel can accommodate such large groups without overwhelming the facilities or other guests. Excellent and flexible response to any requests from the team - thank you.

Stayed for two weeks. Great hotel, clean, excellent food, bar, outdoor area and swimming pool. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good location also with connection into shopping centre. Will be returning.
