Solo Gracia Guesthouse

I was extremely disappointed. The website is definitely misleading as this is advertised as a 4 star luxury B&B. if they advertised it as a 3 star motel room it would have been closer to the truth. The bathroom had no soap, shampoo or any of the standards in it, a empty toilet roll and a half used toilet roll standing on the side of the bath. The wall of the bathroom has a massive damp problem and the paint is peeling. The shower had green mold growing in-between the tiles. The windows of the bathroom was extremely dirty. The floors of both room and bedroom was dirty, and it looked like no one has done a proper mopping in the corners for ages. The blanket on the bed was dirty (as if someone wiped their feet on it, or smeared make-up) I showed the person at the front desk and she replaced it with a clean one but this made me even more uncomfortable about the whole cleanliness situation. The room had electric cables and leads lying around in the open with no effort taken to make it look neat. There was no bottled water or anything in the fridge, and again i had to ask for it. The gardens are in a state with grass growing tall and weeds all over. The final issue was that there is a electric gate in front, but no guest gets a remote. This if you want to go somewhere you have to chase up someone working there to open for you, and hoot when you want to get back it. For the amount they charge this is a terrible rip-off

Solo Gracia is still my preferred Guest House when traveling to Bloemfontein. Because of my work, I stay for long periods of time, 8 weeks at least. The new owners (since June 2022) of Solo Gracia are doing a splendid job. The cleaning staff were friendly, kind. efficient and helpful. Breakfast every morning was outstanding, the Chef took great care in preparing my breakfast exact to my liking. The Manageress was kind, friendly, caring and always willing to assist with my requests. The room was clean, and serviced every day, the bedding was clean and changed reguarly. The bathroom too was clean and the towels sufficient and aslo changed reguarly. I stayed 8 weeks in the Summer and 8 weeks in the Winter, both times I was comfortable, the aircon worked perfectly (cold air and hot air), enough blankets was pavailable in the room if I did not want to use the aircon. I will always go back to Solo Gracia and will recommend it to ANYBODY, I know and those I do not. Solo Gracia, for me is a home away from home! Keep doing what you are doing Raubenheimer Family, you are doing it fantastically!
