My family and I spent one week at Island Manor resort on Block Island, RI. Block Island provides many opportunities - beaches, nature trails, fabulous food, and many sights to see! However, this resort was a disappointment. I will share some of those details here. Issue #1 - Unit #11 was assigned at the time of booking ; but not provided at Saturday's checkin. Unit #11 (in building #1) was assigned at the time of booking; confirmed by resort manager in August 2021; and also confirmed by the new manager just a few days prior to checkin. Of significance, the resort manager indicated that unit #11 would provide WiFi connectivity ; albeit slow. On Saturday, 7/23, keys to unit #16 (not unit #11) were left on a table with no explanation. Unfortunately, unit #16 had no connectivity to the resort's Wifi. Issue #2 - Infestation of ants. On Monday, the living room furniture was overwhelmed with ants. On Thursday, the bathroom sink was overwhelmed with ants. Two cans of Cutter Backwoods insect repellent were available on the window sill. However, this product is for mosquitoes, ticks, biting flies and not for ants. Issue #3 - lack of hot water. On Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday morning, there was no hot water. A text was sent to resort management on Thursday, at 7:43 am; and a response was received 35 minutes later. Issue #4 - lack of a response On Thursday at 8:30am, a text was sent to resort management inquiring when the HVAC guy was coming. No answer was ever received.
