Paid a deposit for graduation weekend via Venmo last fall for 3 rooms that was "fully refundable". On May 4, days before graduation Josh emails stating : "I must announce the closure of my relationship and my lease of Clay Corner Inn. I have struggled to make rent payments as it is, and when a substantial increase was mandated, I simply couldn’t make it happen. Despite my best efforts, I have no choice but to walk away, giving the Inn back to the original owner of the real estate,..." Later in the same email, he stated: "I show you paid me $XXXX by Venmo. We closed our Venmo account end of last year. What I can do is send a check out today so that it gets to you quickly. Can you send me the best mailing address? Please let me know if I am missing anything." I've emailed Josh several times and he's responded saying the check is on the way. Bottom line - no reimbursement to date. Do not trust him and do not stay here.
