So firstly, I would like to state that the staff here were friendly enough so this is no reflection on them. However, there isn't much that is positive to say about this hotel. I had booked a 3 night stay here and on first impressions, the lobby seemed quite modern, nicely decorated and seemingly spacious but the upstairs told a different story. The main desk was not manned all the time so you had to use the number attached to the desk to call a member of staff for check in. That was new to me but it seemed to go ok. I should warn you, if anyone needs wheelchair access then please avoid this hotel as the lift doesn't appear to work.... ever!!!!! from what I can tell. All suitcases had to be taken up the thin, angled staircase. They only provided us with one key card which had to be inserted in the room to keep the telly on so one of you went out, the other had to let them back in or have no TV. The room itself was very small, the bed pushed up against the wall so one adult had to climb in and out down the bottom and no shelves were up for cups or glasses to be rested on during the night. The bed was actually comfortable enough for me to sleep in which was a bonus. There is no air conditioning that we could see and being such a small room, it was pretty warm all the time so we slept with the window open throughout. This was a bad decision as outside our room was a flat roof and I can only guess... a gutter that was broken so as the rain fell, the water splatted onto the flat roof the entire time. It sounded like someone had turned on a power shower in the room with us. Luckily we only had one night of rain. The tea and coffee was nice and the fridge was a great aspect in my opinion as well as a safe if required. However, the walls had coffee stains all over them from previous guests and there was no convenient place to plug the kettle in so we used the window sill. The plug sockets seemed scary as they were loose with gaps around them, some didn't work at all. There was no mirror on the wall, only in the bathroom which is no good if you want to style your hair with electronics (no plug sockets) and there was no hair dryer provided..... which 95% of hotels do. The bathroom was small and had gaps under the door so every sound could be heard (passion killer) and the shower never really seemed to get past just warm..... definitely not hot water. There was also no toiletries.... apart from a tiny hand soap. I had to go out and buy shampoo and another toilet roll as they supplied just 1 roll to last 2 of us for the 4 days there...... not very considerate. The fixtures and fittings in the bathroom were all coming away from the wall with the shower runners falling off when we opened the door. The toilet was clean but it was clear that all other aspects have been neglected badly. Seems a shame as it could be so much more than what it is. The only real positive to come out of our stay here was the location as it is very close to the Blackpool T
