We were dissappointed in the car parking situation. It wasn't exactly made clear that you need to drive into where it was marked exit and press for them to lift the barrier. Then unfortunately there was no room so had to call into reception to find out where we could park it was a bit stressful and could have been avoided. The hotel itself is very secure as you need to press for access to the entrance. Once up to reception on the first floor we were welcomed and allocated a room. The room was very tired with marked and scratched walls and ceiling. The bathroom had all the ususl facilities but a great big crack was in the tiles on the floor about two and half feet long. The shower head was dirty and the bottom of the main door was peeling away. The bed was two single mattresses put together which were obviously well used and meant there was a bump in between which wasnt very comfy. The bar was expensive for drinks and the staff seemed to multitask serving and cleaning tables etc. Some of the same staff were at breakfast and it just felt a bit overall short staffed. The breakfast itself was adequate but basic. We did notify reception on checking out of our findings as we are not usually ones to complain but the issues do make a difference and some just general maintenance.

Really enjoyed the stay and the warm welcome. The lodge is so well located. There are plenty of snacks and the bed was very comfortable. We were really pleased with our stay. We arrived late and fortunately we had someone at the reception available to welcome us and show us our room.

The hotel is right next to the station. There are also large shopping malls and supermarkets opposite. The room space and facilities are great. The only drawback is that there are not many choices for breakfast. I stayed here for four nights and every meal was British-style. The buffet breakfast is actually boring after eating it twice. I hope the breakfast supply can be more international and diversified

Great location on seafront, easy parking £5 until midday next day. Good buffet breakfast with vegetarian options in a dining room with sea view. Rooms are noisy, very thin walls and you can hear every word of people walking past in the corridor so take earplugs. Would stay again though, the staff are all very good and the place is nice and clean.

This majestic building is steeped in history which really adds to the enjoyment of a stay there. We had 3 nights B&B with friends and also dined in on one evening. Food was excellent but the real standouts were the friendly, helpful staff. Not only did they help with all our holiday stay requirements they shared the story and history of the hotel - which is almost 150 years old. For an old hotel the owners have done a great job in maintaining the building and it was a warm, comfortable setting for an autumn break. Highly recommended.
The Best Western Plus Blackpool Lytham St. Annes Glendower Hotel is an idyllic spot to stay in Lytham St. Anne’s. The hotel sits directly opposite a sandy beach, offering breath-taking views of St. Anne’s pier and other spots on Lancashires Fylde coast. Alongside these stunning views, the beautiful Ashton gardens are only a seven minute walk away from the hotel. We recommend stopping by and visiting the Ashton café for a picture-perfect view to accompany your coffee. Couples, families and independent travelers will all find something to do nearby. You can practice your swing at the world-renowned Royal Lytham and St. Anne’s golf course, or enjoy all the attractions Fairhaven Lake has to offer, whether you go boating, play tennis, practice lawn bowling or try your hand at crazy golf. With such beautiful surrounding scenery, the town has become a superb spot to bring your furry friends and take a walk along beach or promenade. Thankfully, Best Western Glendower Hotel is pet-friendly, so for only a small fee you can bring along your four-legged friends.
The Royal Horticultural Society have named Lytham St. Anne’s one of the greenest, cleanest and most beautiful places in Britain, as the Glendower hotel maintains this same first-class reputation. It proves one of the best situated hotels in Lytham St. Anne’s, as you can walk into the picturesque town center or find yourself in Blackpool after just a short car or train journey. The hotel is only a 10 minute drive away from Blackpool Pleasure Beach – one of the UK’s most popular attractions and the perfect day out for any adrenaline junkies.

I am contacting you to express my extreme dissatisfaction at my and my wife's experience at The Glendower Hotel on Saturday 7th September. What should have been a memorable night away for our 10 year wedding anniversary ended up ruined due to actions and failings of your establishment. After booking and paying in advance for a superior double on arrival we arrived at our room to find a standard twin. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. Then expecting a satisfactory resolution by your staff we were passed to your functions and banqueting manager who to add insult to injury offered said room for a £50 reduced cost. A room which we did not want, need or ask for. Then on refusal and asking for a full refund was told if we are ever in the area he would do us a great rate. I have no words to rationalize this as we would not just decide to stay if in the area, it would be pre planned as this was and even if the room was free for the night to turn up and not have a room due to sheer incompetency from your business. We were then left to go on our way while under extreme stress an anxiety over an hour from home with no where to stay for the night due to your shortcomings. I am at a loss as to how someone can book a room and pay for it which is then not available on arrival, at what point was our room just given away to someone else, someone paying a higher rate i suspect and why did no one make an attempt to contact us. In summary you only get one chance at a first impression and The Glendower Hotel failed at every level and ruined our wedding anniversary. Shame on each and every one of you, Mr Kirk Hughes

We celebrated our wedding anniversary here, and were so pleased that we did. We had a gorgeous deluxe room, overlooking the marina. Unfortunately, my husband is allergic to feathers, and we didn't realise that feather duvet and pillows would be provided. Within 5 minutes of contacting Reception, housekeepers arrived to change the bedding. Nothing was too much trouble. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious and pleasantly served, so I don't know why there were negative reviews on here about the food. When we checked out, the Receptionist said that we could keep our car there for a few more hours so that we could enjoy Southport for longer. All in all, a very pleasant stay.

GGuest UserWe have just returned from an overnight stay. We had booked the suite ( coniston). Upon arrival we were quickly dealt with by reception. The hotel is running on a skeleton staff but all were helpful. Our suite wasnt ready but the happily stored our luggage so we could go into Blackpool and would call when it was ready which they did. The hotel itself is in a 10 min walk of the north pier and tower. From the outside it looks a little tired. The main door doesnt work and decor is dated. The suite however was very spacious. It stretched across 5 windows all tower facing with a great view. The only down side to this was the windows needed a good clean. The suite was modern and had 2 bathrooms a dining area a living area and bedroom. It was clean and tidy however there were noticable stains on the carpet and furniture which they had cleaned in the past. But overall was very pleasant. The bath was lovely nice and deep. We only paid 179 for the night when peak charge can be around 300 so i felt at this price it was worth it. The only thing that would of made it better and i would expect if paying top end would be a robe slippers and possible complimentary mini bar. The bed was very comfortable and the addition of a fan was welcomed. However no hairdryer! We didnt eat here as we ate at the beach house (highly recommended and it didnt dissapoint! )At this price point we would return again and plan to in the future.
KKellyEverything about our stay was fantastic greeted beautifully when we got there, room was lovely and clean, facilties brilliant, never a bad holiday experience hotel is beautiful, staff are always so lovely and the entertainment was brilliant will be booking again soon best hotel in blackpool didnt want to leave always a pleasure to stay there my son really enjoyed it wants to come back already you all take care be booking again soon could please keep me updated with the entertainment that's on for the rest of the year
GGuest UserI had a bedbug in my bed the first night. Killed it and had no more problems after that, but it gave me nasty bites.
Nice croissants for breakfast. Crockery not that clean.
GGuest UserWe stayed here for a cheap night away with our 8 year old, most hotels were more expensive and didnt offer much as in were very small no bar or entertainment. The bar was really big and had a sea view we had a few drinks before we went out for tea. There was a dancefloor and stage. Plenty of space for my son to play around whilst we had a drink. Tram stop right outside to the town. Room was very spacious yeh it wasn't the newest but with the price i wasn't expecting it to be. However it was clean and comfy. We had a Seaview room but had scaffolding outside our window so the window was quite dusty but that couldn't be helped. We didnt eat there however we walked past the breakfast buffet and everything looked lovely and i did look at the hygiene rating and its a 5 so. Check in was super fast and parking for the night was only £3. The hotel had a singer on and the kids were happy playing on the dancefloor so family friendly. There is also a pool which we didn't get chance to use but a great facility for the price. I would defo visit again
AAnonymous UserGood value for money, you can stay for one night at this price. The location is also good. There is a supermarket nearby. If you want to go out, you can buy the necessary items in a few minutes, but the ventilation is not very good.
GGuest UserThank you to all the staff you made mine and my friends few days away the best. The staff are amazing so friendly. The food superb. Our room was a bit on the small side but had everything we needed and a sea view. I never normally go to the entertainment but so glad i did i laughed so much and it was singers that were on. I have had a horrible 7 months and this little break as helped me so much. Defo going to go back. All our love Sue and Carol room 400
GGuest UserClean and tidy room, quad with private bathroom, 2 double beds. Blinds on windows instead of curtains and not blackout blinds, which left gaps in so people could see into room. Tv and tea/coffee in room. No breakfast available as no chef currently employed. £50 cash deposit must be given on check-in which was returned with no problem after room inspection. Well stocked bar and karaoke with bingo was played on Friday and Saturday night. Parking available at £10 a night but looked a bit risky out the back so didn’t park here. Reception not always manned and can be a long wait for someone to come after pressing bell. No hot water on 2nd morning so it looks like the early risers take all the hot water. For the price for a family of 4 over easter it wasn’t as bad as some reviews.
