Staff were very personable. Mike upgraded our room upon arrival. Violet could not do enough for us. She was also trying her hand at cooking breakfast — and it was exceptionally good.

The Red Rocker in was the perfect location for our visit to WNC. It’s an easy walk to town to visit the restaurants and shops. The staff is friendly and accommodating. We were stuck in traffic and arrived later than expected but we notified Violet and she met us at our new arrival time. We enjoyed the fresh-cooked breakfast each morning to start the day. The room was cozy and clean and just what we wanted for our visit. I highly recommend staying at Red Rocker!

Everything about Red Rocker was fabulous! The atmosphere. The food. The town. But most of all the people. Mike & Katy & Violet. They made our stay memorable. Katy is quite the chef! An added plus! We could bring our pet Laci. She loved it! And the other guests enjoyed her. Highly recommended!

A lovely and old-fashioned inn run by people who care. Only the breakfast was a disappointment--and I gather that may have been due to some unusual pressures. Still. When the crepes come out without cheese, and then come back with (un-melted) cheese and pretty much cold...after you've waited 45 minutes...

The Red Rocker and the area continue to deal with the aftereffects of the Hurricane that hit just 60 days before. The owners let us know that they allowed volunteers to use rooms to assist the area during the time the Inn was effectively closed. This was commendable to hear. Our family had 5 rooms during this stay and were thankful the Inn was up and running again. There were 14 of us in all, and the owners made us feel as if we were at home -- and the Thanksgiving dinner was great! We highly recommend supporting Black Mountain and the Red Rocker and they continue to come back from the storm.

Beautiful old home that has been well kept and beautiful inside and out . The location was within walking distance of town and in a very quiet neighborhood. Would stay here again and again ! Breakfast was wonderful too!

Red Rocker Inn was the perfect place to base out of for our college visit at Montreat College. We loved the breakfast (biscuits especially), the rooms/beds were comfortable, it was quiet, and we took advantage of the front porch. We enjoyed walking the neighborhood streets in the morning and evening, as well as walking into town for dinner. If we ever come back to that area, we will definitely stay there again!
