Friendly staff. A nice and clean place to stay, with comfortable bedrooms. Only a short drive for our visit to the Kynren Festival.

Good home cooking but reasonable pub hotel.
Really good home cooked food at a good price too but hotel side of the pub was a little expensive considering breakfast wasnt included but it was comfortable and clean and nice for me personally to have memory foam pillows instead of feather filled ones.

A lovely stop over
Our room was beautiful. It had a king size bed and the en-suite bathroom was a good size. The only downside was that the toilet flush handle was broken but still worked. It could have done with better lighting in the bathroom as you couldn’t see in the mirror very well. The room was immaculately clean and had a sofa and tv with easy to connect to WiFi. Personally I struggled with comfort of the bed as I found it too soft but it was dressed with clean sheets and had extra pillows in the wardrobe.
The food in the evening was very tasty, with very generous portions and the breakfast which you could order the night before was plentiful and generous portions of the full English which was served fresh. The only criticism of this was that the toast was not warm. Overall a lovely stay and would recommend it.

Stayed here for a couple of nights what a lovely place it is. Our room was lovely and clean, comfy bed extra pillows if needed, tea coffee and biscuits. No noise whatsoever from the bar downstairs food was absolutely lovely we ate here for breakfast and evening meal all meals were very reasonable. Thanks to Mackenzie for serving us and making sure we were all happy and Thanks to the chef for the best sweet and sour chicken and the lady who cooked our breakfast the best poached eggs. So if your looking for a place to stay give the saxon inn a try you won’t be dissaponted

I stayed in the family room and was very impressed with the high standards throughout. Would highly recommend You can see that the owners take pride in the establishment and it really shows, all the staff are extremely pleasant and cannot do enough to make the stay comfortable. The restaurant area is clean/modern/well kept and the homemade pizza was spot on!!!! 10/10 all round.

Great value for money. Room 4 was lovely with bathrobes, plenty of toiletries, tea, coffee and biscuits. Very comfortable bed and room included a sofa and the full length mirror in the wardrobe a great addition. Breakfast was fantastic and great choice. We ate twice on an evening and both times was delicious. Above all though each and every member of staff we met went above and beyond and were so pleasant and happy and are anabsolute credit. Would definitely stay again.

We received a very warm welcome when we booked in and found other staff extremely friendly too. Our evening meal was delicious and the room we had was comfortable and spacious. We would recommend this friendly inn to anyone who needs a short break. It's in an idyllic location too.
