The Garden Bungalow

Our experience at this home stay was absolutely wonderful! The stunning architecture and warm hospitality made it a standout destination. Annyana, our gracious host, went above and beyond to ensure we had an incredible time. Her vibrant personality, paired with the non-stop music and delicious food, created an atmosphere that felt both lively and cozy. This quickly became one of our favorite vacation spots, especially with the company of good friends. Every moment was a delight, and we loved every bit of our stay. Highly recommend it for anyone seeking a unique and heartwarming getaway in shantiniketon!

The place is sprawling with flowers if you visit in early February. Several trees are adorned orchids. The homely service and the behaviour of the hosts only adds to the experience. Those who have been to or owned properties in the rural getaways like Simultala and mccluskieganj will feel a gush of nostalgia in this property.

Horrible Horrible Horrible... When we first stepped in, we could find no one to talk to. We called the number and they said there will be someone checking us in. After waiting for almost 45mins, a person came and started checking in other people who came much later than us. When we asked for the reason, he started being abusive and quarelled to the best of his ability. We were tired and asked if we could at least have lunch while they check us in, they said that time for ordering lunch was over and no food will be available. So we requested them if we can at least keep ours bags and get lunch elsewhere. They took some more time and somehow finally check in was done after much chaos. There was no water in the washroom when we checked in. They said that they have switched on the pump and we will have water later. We went for lunch outside and came back after sometime. Thankfully water problem was resolved. I told them that by what time we need to order dinner? They said 6pm. So we ordered dinner beforehand. The night went however peaceful and the rooms were spacious but for any need it is hard to find any person to attend you. In the morning (at around 8am) they informed that there will be no breakfast as we did not inform earlier. Only tea would be available that too without any biscuits. We again had to set out and get breakfast from outside and come back. We got ready and left this horrible place. The Bungalow is undoubtedly beautiful but the customer service is such as if they are doing you a favour by letting you in. They mainly make money from photoshoots and hardly care about family/group/individual travellers. There are many beautiful resorts around, stay away from this one. Their apathy towards their guests' requirements is appalling!!!!

We stayed in this property with my 6yrs old daughter for 3 days. We has mixed experience:- Pros:- 1＞ Beautiful well maintained garden. Unlike other commercial hotels, this place has large trees which are quite old 2＞Staffs are polite , well behaved, ready to help 3＞ We stayed in standard room 2 of red brick building. It had all amenities to make your stay comfortable. 4＞ Our train was at night and they allowed us to wait in lounge after check out . Really thankful for that. 5＞ Loved the antique wooden furniture and the vibe of old Zamidarbari. Cons:- 1＞ The place is extremely understaffed. There is no one in reception( They do not have any reception as such). Literally one person was taking care of everything - reception, communication, serving food etc. 2＞ Be cautious if you are travelling with a kid. In spite of requesting and giving instruction to keep our food kid friendly, the first 2 days my daughter could not eat properly. They didn't follow any instruction. So make your choice wisely as food is big problem here. 3＞ Do not forget to carry mosquito repellant. Jumbo size mosquitoes are there. However it seems harmless and insects will always be present if there are large trees and jungle. But then why to take risk :) ? In a nutshell, if you want to spend a couple of days amidst nature this is for you. But if you are coming with kid either carry their food or explore a restaurant nearby. Thanks Papiya

Excellent property, good food, best for family. Staff were cordial. Clean bathroom, room was big and furniture was antique. Cool environment, with no noise. Walking distance from shonajhuri haat. Will stay again when we visit shantiniketan.

Nice big rooms. Beautiful property with excellent location near the shonajhuri . Staffs were cordial and food was good. Rooms and toilet were clean. There were lot of unique trees inside the property.
