Tessa's on the Beach

8 minutes ago on Google We rung ahead on a Friday and spoke to a foreign girl. I told her I saw her deluxe suite online but I was ringing to make sure we could get a room with a bathtub because I have a disability and can’t go without one. She said yes and said $260, for a soaker tub. We get there 6 hours later and there is a new girl. I go to the bedroom immediately so excited because I could lay down!! No tub! Started this exchange with the receptionist texting her manager, not letting me talk to him at 3.00 by 5 she was straight up saying her other receptionist said we were lying. Wouldn’t refund my money at all, so we couldn’t stay anywhere else, wouldn’t discount us or compensate us in any way!! We got into the same room at 6.30 and wasn’t able to go to the event planned because of all the texting, stalking then flat out called us liars. Then stole money from us, because they don’t do refunds on the day! Lol I booked that day and payed by phone! Clerical error should not put back on a disabled client and I’m ashamed for them for it. Honestly. As the person with the disability it was humiliating and exhausting as for my caregiver who NEVER takes me anywhere without making sure I have a bath. It was disrespectful and disgraceful.

great location , friendly staff , great bed

We found this apartment a little two small for us two adults. It's OK if the weather is favourable, but if you had to stay indoors, you would get cabin fever. We knew the accommodation was next to the airport, but gee the planes were loud. Access to the beach is incredible - just walk out the back gate and you have pristine beach for kms. So, even though we knew it was next to the airport, the beach access won. Parking is first in, first served, otherwise there's free parking on the street.

I'll give this hotel a second star for the friendly front desk staff and location but thats about where the positive points end. Our first room did not have a working light in the bedroom or bathroom so the guy at the front desk moved us to the room across the way, just as we had brought all our things in from the car. The second room also has an issue with the bedroom light, you have to make sure the door is closed or it'll start controlling the same fan/light fixture in the sitting room. The hotel looked good on paper but it is more a millennial facade than anything. The bed is terribly uncomfortable, the room itself is stuffy, the windows only open about 100mm. The floor of the room was disgusting, you had to wear thongs for your feet to not be black. The mini-fridge was full of their mini bar items like a $14 Corona and their in house bar was equally pricey. Their wifi constantly kicked you off and you had to sign in again and again. The nearby airport also launches at 6am on the dot until 11pm - not the hotels fault but it didn't help an already problematic stay.
