Summit Hotel at Big Sky Resort

Our Room never received housekeeping by afternoon and after several requests. The front desk told me the housekeeping was focused on getting rooms for incoming guests and I would need to wait and no idea how long. Just checked out and they never offered to get service immediately or refund me.

The 5 of us traveled to Big Sky, MT. We had adjoining rooms. One had 2 queen beds and the other had a queen Murphy bed with a couch, small oval table with 4 chairs and a kitchenette. Both rooms had a full bathroom with nice white tiles, large shower, and a well lite mirror. The kitchenette was great to have as we were able to have breakfast and some lunches in the room as a break from the day’s activities. The staff were great and wanted to help. The cowboys are there to valet your car (if you want, otherwise parking is about a 5 minute walk from the hotel-which we did for the additional time outside and always good for the kids to experience some inconvenience 🤓), assist with luggage, and they will shuttle you into town-make sure to tip them. There is a nice spa on site-we did not use. Also a swimming pool, sauna, cold shower, and a warming bench (never seen one, it was nice). In addition, a small gym that has enough equipment to get a bit of exercise in, but max dumbbells and Smith machine weight was 50lbs-I’m sure for safety. Finally, there is a pool as well. During our stay, we had free lift tix each day to go up the mountain via 2 ski lifts. The one on the left (as you look at the mountain) has an 18 hole frisbee golf course that our two sons and I played while my wife and daughter helped us. A great way to have some fun and hike. We saw deer while on the course. The other lift will take you to the Big Sky sign and photo opportunity. Last ride up is 4:45pm and last ride down is 5pm. You can rent frisbee golf and mountain bikes in the village next to the hotel. We had dinner at couple of the restaurants-expensive, not surprisingly. Nit picks-pillows are small and too soft, the queen mattress was not very comfy for 2 adults (felt like a blow up mattress at times) and the a/c was just ok. Beautiful setting and a short drive into the town of Big Sky.

Beware of room service and restaurant charges. At dinner prices on my bill were one to two dollars higher than what was advertised on the menu. I kind of let it slide then moved on. The next morning I ordered room service and my bill was not brought up to me as it usually would have been. I ended up getting charged the 20 percent service fee plus a 20 percent extra tip and the menu items were a higher price than what was advertised. The front desk manager didn’t see any problem and the food and beverage manager never got back to me so I guess I will move in. It was too bad because this is an amazing hotel overall and I was already thinking about coming back. They really should have taken care of this better since it really soured me on the idea of returning. Just something to consider. If you don’t mind getting charged more than expected you’ll have a great time.
