Motel 6 Big Bear Lake, CA

It was friendly. Staff was great. Loved how clean room where. Very attentive staff. Would highly recommend.

I wouldn't say "poor," but for $124, in no world would I say "average". We just needed a place to crash before having to be at Snow Summit for a 9am lesson for our little one. It seemed clean enough; parking was easy. Cool location next to a tube park. Heater worked BUT we didn't even get blankets. This was in the mountains in March we only got a sheet and a decorative bed cover that I'm sure would glow under blacklight. Also, they really mean it when they say, "We'll keep the light on." We had to shove our ski jackets on top of the window to block out the stadium lighting. I think, eventually, they turned it off. Customer service was fine, but they wanted to charge us an extra $40 to check in before 2:30 (no thanks). We didn't use any other facility but I'm pretty sure I saw a sign stating laundry was out of order (but that was just a quick glance). Finally, we really enjoyed the late-night performance of Riverdance above us. (Not really the motel's fault) I think for any future trips we are going to spend a little more money and get a place that will provide a blanket. If you are going to stay here, make sure you bring some extra supplies to help you out.

Overall, not the cleanest motel, I found stains and hair on the bed and blanket. It is my first experience to pay $300 a night for motel 6. I will use air b n b from now on. I come to big bear lake almost every other week during ski season and now I know why it is easy to book.

Typically i dont expect much from the cheap motels but this motel6 is beyond my imagination. The overall cleanliness of the room is below average, housekeeping was trying to clean the room at 6pm. I thought i go do my business during the day and come back to a clean room. Luckily, i have other options.

We encountered unexpected road closures into town, so we were unable to make it. When I talked to the manager, she was hardline unwilling to work with us on a refund simply citing "Motel 6 policies" regarding cancellations 24 hours in advance. According to her, we should have predicted closures and it was our fault, even though we’re from out of town. Great customer service! /s

very clean, had a refrigerator and microwave. Guy at front desk was very personable and helpful. Definitely would stay there again! Best rate we could find and close to Snow Summit and Big Bear Resort. Free WIFI

This has been a last minute booking for me. I paid an exorbitant $340 for a crappy, stained all over, motel 6 room. The gap around the door was about half inch wide. 15° outside. The heater didn't work, so I called the front desk. They told me to wait a few minutes. I used both units, wall and central, and neither worked. I was so tired from snowboarding that I immediately fell asleep. 2 hours later I woke up all cold. The heater had never kicked in. The next morning, classy "daddy's girl" tattoo on the chest clerk told me that she would let the management know about my horrible experience. Melody, the manager whom I called about 6 times, told me that she spoke with the owner and that the heater is working. So basically, she told me that I was lying...... You're better off sleeping in your car than spending the night there. Oh, the toilet handle was broken too...

Overall the room was very clean, comfortable and quiet. Wifi was decent and cable tv channels. No fridge or microwave or shampoo provided. Employees were nice. But it was extremely chilly in the evening- no heat at 5 p.m. When I called , they said the heat would come on later. You have no control over the heat, Had to wear 3 layers of cloths- even to bed- to stay warm. Heat didn't come on until midnighgt. So don't stay here if you want to control the heat and air conditioning !! When I called several times later in the evening, the staff would never even answer the phone !!
