Hôtel la Prison

I spent weeks looking for a holiday and just came across this hotel by accident. Having worked in Prisons I knew that I had to visit. I initially booked 2 nights in the suite on the 5th floor (the suite was stunning). We loved it so much that we extended our stay for the rest of our 1 week. The suite was occupied after our initial 2 nights so we moved to the comfort room on the 4th floor (loved it just as much as the suite). The staff were incredible. I must mention, Monique, Samuel and Samantha who really stood out as going above and beyond! All staff were very knowledgeable and helpful about the local area and things to do/ see and visit! Thank you! Beziers is simply stunning! I could spend months there! I could also personally live in the hotel! The character of the prison that has been kept just blew my mind! I loved it and cannot wait to return! I would have like to have seen a cross trainer or a running machine in the gym. However……. That is just a personal preference and not a criticism. The weather was extremely hot while we were there in June so the A/C was a blessing as was the pool! Ate one in the hotel restaurant. The food was divine! I feel truly honoured to have found and stayed in this completely unique hotel! Merci!!!! Amour, Amour, Amour!! Gill & Darren

We stayed at Hôtel La Prison for two nights and had no hot water at all during our stay. We were not informed of this at check-in, even though staff later told us it had been an issue for several days. We had no opportunity to cancel or adjust plans — something we found deeply unfair. When we raised the issue, the explanations from the hotel changed multiple times. First, they said it was unexpected. Then they claimed it only happened on the second night. Later, they admitted it began earlier. This inconsistency made the experience even more frustrating. The hotel offered us 20% off a future stay — but this felt like an empty gesture, since we no longer trust the property and won’t be returning. It’s a beautiful building, but transparency and guest care need serious improvement.
