Arrived just after 2 PM. Whole staff with teenagers and old landlady sat playing on their phones. Checked in and shown to our rooms by a bargirl. Room is ridiculous, hair dryer out of 1970, wet room smelt of mould. Later did we learn that staff stay right next door. Proceeded to book dinner. My partners lasagne was good awful but my ham egg and chips were edible, surprising really considering that's the least that takes cooking. After all this I noticed a weird looking skinny man. I later found out he was a bar member who was one at the start playing his phone. My partner found him very uncomfortable from his weird pre teen stare to the look that has never had a conversation with a woman. Wholly uncomfortable. Later that evening, a table to middle aged regulars were loudly proclaiming their Iran allyship. I decided because rightly we are in Great Britain to encourage Education and for them to look at history. I was then told by someone that their dad came here in 1970 and I proceeded to say I don't care. Not nastily but the same way he does not care my family came in the 1820s. It is not a competition. We were then told we were not welcome to drink anymore because of what we said and the regulars we offended. Avoid. Be on the right side of our country. Not traitors. The place is dying and it deserves to. Weird staff living at WORK! AVOID! Don't go if you love your country or appreciate you wife's right to not being leered at. We did not end up staying and left early. We will fight for our money back. Awful premises with even awful staff. Is in it's dying phase. Weird young man, rat-ish beware taking your partner there she will feel uncomfortable. Bingo was on but no one knew what they were doing. Staff stay on premises. I've read some old reviews and it seems consistent. Landlady don't know what's happening (wholly understandable considering) and little kids running the place. Beware. The place should die.

A lovely typical country pub, the staff were very friendly and welcoming, really good food and a very good choice, thanks.

Friendly welcome and good service. Spacious car park. Excellent breakfast. Good bedroom with good facilities. Reasonable price. The bar closed too early for us (by 9pm on Sunday and Monday evening). In summary, this is somewhere which one can recommend with confidence: it is precisely as advertised.

We went for Sunday lunch. Was delighted to see lamb on the menu. The pub was very clean, staff friendly and helpful. I nice little restaurant in a traditionally built pub. The food was excellent, proper homemade. The roast was like eating at home, nicely finished off with desserts.

Great small town B&B with friendly staff.
This is a very small property, with only 6 rooms. I like the location, the breakfast in the morning, and the staff. Always willing to help and friendly. Also, the bed has the best duvets you can find. Not sure why that makes it so great, but always rest well here.

Dodgy window blind!
Staff friendly, food was good.
Unfortunately the blind in the room didn’t cover the bottom inch of the window allowing anyone to look straight in onto the bed, very uncomfortable nights sleep knowing that people could see you! Also bright green safety exit light above door is too bright!
