This is a small hotel with ten rooms, located in the centre of Beverley with a thriving pub/restaurant. If arriving by car, the rear car park is tricky to find and only has eight spaces. There is no lift so access to the rooms are via a flight of steepish steps but all bedrooms are on the first floor that I noticed. Our room was overlooking the delightful market place, but was very quiet. We had a comfortable bed, tea and coffee facilities, plus a wonderful walk-in shower. I believe all rooms have showers which we prefer. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, they will take up your bags to your room. Evening dinners were very enjoyable and at reasonable prices. Breakfast had a limited menu, but choice of hot food with eggs were tastefully cooked. They don’t offer cereals or continental breakfasts though. We enjoyed our stay here and would go back.

We visited The King's Head a couple of years ago and it was fun in the afternoon! So, we decided when we returned to Beverley, we would aim to stay overnight. When we checked in, we realised we had potentially made a mistake. It was SO noisy but it was around 6pm, so that's fine. We went to different venues for a drink before going back to 'sleep'. When we arrived back to the hotel, there were 2 DJ's and a fairly empty room but the music was still banging. There was no atmosphere. The bedroom was tired, chipped paint along skirting boards, missing picture from wall, milk splash stains on wall near coffee making area ... just simple things need to be done to bring the room up-to-date. As the rooms aren't purpose built, we could hear other guests, banging around, talking, water running etc. So, I have to say, the bed was comfortable as were the pillows but unless you take sleeping tablets, you probably won't wake up refreshed. And the price tag certainly is way over the top.

Spent a lot of money in this expensive pub. Got served by a 12 year old looking kid who then ten minutes later decided we couldn’t have anymore because we were too drunk which we weren’t but his reason behind it was because my friend was slurring his words apparently but in actual fact my friend has a speech problem that makes him mumble so he felt very upset and embarrassed after this. We even offered the lad a drink when he served us literally 10 minutes before he said we were too drunk. This was not a valid reason and it ruined our night. Never been treated like that in a pub all my life. Would not recommend unless you want to spend a fortune and get judged by little kids.

Stayed for three days, wonderful staff particularly Lucy and Ellen, felt really cared for in a very personal way. Cleaning staff also friendly and helpful. Great food compliments to Chef team. Lovely setting in the centre of town definitely plan to return

Very empty on a Sunday evening came in for a couple pizzas. Waited ages considering they were empty. The bartender however was the worst so miserable and not helpful in anyway. Sunday 27th April at half 6 we were here just one other person drinking and the kitchen staff playing darts. £6.85 for a peroni as well when other pubs nearby sell it for much cheaper. Definitely have lost the plot.
