When I arrived at 9pm with my wife and two young children (1 & 2 yr old) I was told we could not stay together in the same room (booked a double for 2 nights) and would need to book an additional room. I explained it wasn’t possible due to my wife being over 9 months pregnant and possibly going into labor at any moment. Still they insisted we book a second room; however, agreed to refund one night if we didn’t stay. We left to find another hotel and they later reneged on the refund and charged for 2 nights. We were there a total of 30 minutes and I’m so glad we left! The Royal Oak hotel down the road was perfect (we stayed in one room) and the service was phenomenal. Not to mention they have an award-winning breakfast included with the room. Last time we book a 6.6 rated Inn!

We had an excellent 3 night stay here, the hotel is very good value and the staff were all exceptionally nice and friendly. The room was lovely with a very comfortable bed and lovely wooden floor. Plenty of towels and toiletries and was very clean. We particularly liked that there was a fridge and were given fresh milk for tea in the morning which we could store there. Good quality selection of tea and coffee in the room plus biscuits. We were lucky enough to have been given a room overlooking the river which was lovely. Highly recommend and we will stay there again

We had a lovely stay at this pub with room. The room was comfy and staff friendly. The food, drinks and service in the pub was great. We’d definitely recommend a visit. The pub is located centrally in the village with lots of local attractions on the door step.

The staff at the inn are friendly and attentive. Location is perfect. Unfortunately the place is dirty and expensive for what they offer. I stopped for 3 nights with my son but only because all the other local hotels had no vacancies. The bathroom in the room was dirty the handle in the toilet broken. Lamp had missing bulbs, the rooms are not serviced every day, windows are dirty and don’t really open. Coffee cups in the room were dirty upon checking in … the all place needs a good scrub. There was a life music every night in the pup garden just below our windows so after a day of hiking we couldn’t get any rest at all . I completely understand the entertainment in the pub but if so rooms should be soundproof so gusts can have a dictate sleep. The worst place I have ever stoped in

The whole experience was beyond underwhelming to say the least. Money taken out of my account hours before we checked in. A scruffy brutish type wiping down tables is one of the vilest individuals I have had the misfortune to meet. Heading up this dirty, tatty, warehouse of an establishment, he is an absolute insult to the trade and should never be allowed to work in hospitality. The police should check this guy out and make sure that all staff are safe and well. I sat up for hours guarding us because of the disgusting energy he gave off. Stay away from this place.

We have just stayed at this hotel for the last 3 nights under the New Management and I would like to say that it was one of the best hotels we have stayed in for a long time, location is absolutely stunning, accommodation was very comfortable, food was good and the team are really polite and very friendly, the new management team are very helpful in sorting things out if you need to make short notice adjustments, the hotel is still a very good Dog friendly place, although I no longer have a dog, there is plenty to do here and excellent starting point for both young and the older generation, the local people of the village are very friendly and happy to help in any way they can, parking facilities are good, but it can get very busy at times, we would just like to say as well that all the visitors at our time of staying all seemed very friendly too, we really like this Hotel and would very highly recommend this to all as it is good clean and very friendly, well done. We will be back on a regular basis see you there.
