Bethesda Marriott

No hot water for shower or shave. For a $300 room, I found this unbelievable.

It takes a lot for me to write a review during my stay. If you can stay somewhere else in Bethesda, do it. As other reviewers have noted, the hotel is rather remote with no walkable food options. Pros: 1. The room was clean. 2. The staff was friendly. Cons: 1. All of parking access is by room key card. When you arrive and the vestibule is backed up, you are forced to wait. 2. Accessing your Bonvoy account to gain free Wifi is nearly impossible. I gave up and just paid the fee. 3. No recognition of gold elite status. No upgrade offer (that's ok). 4. No water bottles in the room or offered at check=in. 5. The cups in the room were paper cups. The above are not significant problems for a hotel. The two below are. 1. There were no washclothes in the bathroom. I trekked down to the front desk, informed the desk clark who asked me, "are you sure?" He didn't have any at the front desk but he assured me "someone would be right up." Two hours later, no sign of any washclothes. 2. Because I had work to do for a Sunday meeting, I opted for in room dining and ordered the angus burger medium rare. The burger that arrived was raw and loaded in grease. The presentation was awful. Everything was plopped into a takeaway container. There was no ketchup for the fries and no utensils were included. I took the burger and fries down to the restaurant and told her the burger was raw. The maitre d' took the container - and I told her I didn't want them to just throw the burger back on the grill until it was medium rare. I ended up ordering a caesar salad - and asked for a dinner roll. What I got was a silverware roll. The salad was actually good. What I found shocking was - the maitre d' did not say, "we'll take the burger charge off your room bill." What she did do was charge me for the caesar salad. I was deeply disappointed in my stay, which, fortunately, was only for one night. Had I been staying in DMV longer, I would have switched hotels.

Hotel appears nice, but the experience is as bad a Marriott experience as I’ve had. I’ve stayed here a few times and everything isn’t bad, but overall I’d stay away, far away. Good: Lounge is peaceful Great breakfast (with lounge) Non-desk service is really good Bad: Multiple requests from front desk not filled for basic things (3 requests for extra blankets, we got 1 blanket), handicap accessible room had loose plastic in shower (trip hazard) went unrepaired $22 for parking Lounge was picked over by 8:00, very limited snacks Accessible room for person with walker was at the end of a long hallway Hotel feels aged outside of first floor Front desk staff arguing about last 4 of a credit card for a room booked for another person then wouldn’t take my Marriott card for payment without management intervention

Great hospitality! Breakfast buffet awesome- Kudos to the chef and wait staff.

At first, when we arrived to check-in, they were looking for the person who reserved the booking. Even though the reservation was also under my husband's name. This madenit inconvinient since we have to call his friend who booked the reservation just to check us in at the hotel. Inside the rooms, they were lacking basic stuff we need like slippers, toothbrush and toothpaste. The door locks are also messed up. It took us almost an hour just to get inside the room bec the keycard was not working. During our stay, every night there were always buses blocking the driveway and entrance to the lobby which made it inconvinient for us since cars cannot pass through the entrance. All in all, i was not satisfied with my stay. Everything was complicated in this hotel, which was supposed to be a relaxing stay.
