Basic but brilliant value, comfy bed, clean and tidy room, excellent facilities and friendly staff! Used the YHA as a base for our stay which was very comfortable.

Fantastic location in the heart of Berwick and stones throw from the harbour. Nice en suite room and all areas of the hostel clean, tidy and comfortable. Have to mention Scott on reception...really helpful, friendly and very amusing ! He definitely deserves a salary increase as he's a real asset for the hostel.

Good location. Friendly helpful staff. Unfortunately our room was tired and the bathroom had an awful smell of blocked drains. Bed standard variable in our sleeps 6 room. Whole place could really do with a facelift given the great standard of other YHAs and independent hostels.

Came here with my local walking group over the Easter weekend. The staff were very helpful and friendly and would highly recommend the optional cooked breakfast. The rooms were very comfortable and spacious. Looking forward to returning here again soon!!

Despite their website stating restaurant closed at 20:30 it actually closes at 17:00-as you cannot check-in before 17:00 that is very unhelpful. I was charged twice for the breakfast. Wifi is high speed and available in the room. Reception staff far too sarcastic and disrespectful

Last minute break away with my son, staff very friendly and very helpful. Everything was there in the kitchen people were friendly and there were no issues.
However the only down side of the stay was the bed, it was solid, uncomfortable, and I awoke a couple of times in agony with my back. I'm not use to such a firm bed.

Friendly YHA welcome in this historic building. Clean cosy room, with en-suite. Lovely breakfast. Berwick is a hidden gem of cobbled streets and quaint cafes. The most complete defensive walls to walk around the city. Amazing history of a coastal town which was fought-over for centuries. Lots of architectural delights . T S Lowry also holidayed - and painted- here. Follow the Lowry trail to stand where he stood, see the same views.
