Had lunch here recently we expected more for the price. Drinking glasses on the table and the water decanters were dirty and dishwasher worn we didn’t use them, when we asked for replacements the new ones were the same! I had the Burger priced approx £19, which was nice but the skin-on chips were hit and miss some had hard centres. For what we paid for lunch I expected better. Shame really as I think they could do better.

We arrived at The Lindisfarne Inn while hiking St. Cuthbert's Way - this was our last stop before the trek to Holy Island. We were very happy with the accommodations - very clean room, quiet and well appointed. The service to check us in and to serve us in the dining room and pub was provided by Donna, Faith and Chloe, and it was fantastic! All were very helpful and especially friendly, checking to be sure we were happy with the room and the food. We had dinner there on Wednesday, 7/23 and breakfast on Thursday, 7/24. We were happy with the food.

Unexpectedly nice bedroom - and first class housekeeping, it was immaculate. On first impression, we thought, oh dear, it's like a Weatherspoons and just off the busy A1. I had thought it would be more rural or nearer the actual island. However, after a slightly disorganised check-in (from behind the bar) and an unimpressive route to the rooms... a very attractive, newish wing of rooms hidden at the (much quieter) rear of the inn was revealed. Flowers in baskets everywhere, and a very handy car park courtyard. We had a room on the upper level and the front part is like a terrace. Very comfortable bed and linens. Young staff were friendly and helpful, if run off their feet. Breakfast was busy but OK and the cooked part tasty. Room prices can vary by a lot, we noticed, but we felt it worth what we paid (£110 B&B) and departed happy.

Had a meal during the very first Bank Holiday weekend in May and a table was found for 3 very hungary cyclists. The person in charged explained she lives in during her shift - the service she and her assistant proved was excellent - serving up some proper pub grub. All in all 5 stars.

7 adults in our party stayed whilst doing The Northumberland Coastal path. Emily the manager made us most welcome, nothing was too much trouble for her, she said the Inn was her pride and joy and it showed. The young lady behind the bar, Emma A has obviously been well trained , she too was positively charming. Considering there was just the 2 of them front of house the service was 1st rate. Both dinner and breakfast were very good with a good choice. Nice spotless rooms with comfortable beds and good quality towels. Lovely hot showers with good quality toiletries provided. Thank you for looking after us after a long walk .

3 of us went for food for the last night of our holiday, when we arrived we were met by a member of staff who was very chatty which was lovely. We took a seat and ordered our food and drinks at the bar. Our starters arrived which were nice. When our mains arrived my and my son's were lovely but my mum was not happy with hers, she said it was rubbery and tasteless, she had the seafood linguine. When the waitress came over to check we were ok we explained about mum's meal. She offered to replace it however mum was not keen. This is where it then took a turn and the reason why I am giving the low review. The women took mums plate away and then went behind the bar and 3 staff crowded round, including someone I assume was the manager, as she was not in the uniform the other two females were, they were clearly talking about us and pointing, laughing and making faces. There was no further acknowledgement from the manger there was no offer of a discounted/free desert or a round of drinks. As a manager of a restaurant myself I would have been straight over apologising offering a desert or a round of drinks or a partial refund on the bill. This was not the case here. We were ignored for the rest of the evening, and as we left we said bye with no response from any member of staff, they saw us leaving. Disgusting behaviour from staff. I should also note my mum had a stroke not so long ago so she was very much affected by this behaviour cause she felt she had done something wrong. We often go to Haggerston Castle where we were staying in this occasion but we certainly won't be coming back here. Which is a shame as the place itself was lovely
